Great and affordable hotel. Central location 2min from hbf

In a fantastic location close to the main train station and U Bahn but very quiet. Very friendly and helpful staff and comfortable room. I know other people have commented but the quality and variety of food at the buffet breakfast really is exceptional-possibly the best I’ve ever had. The coffee is excellent. I can’t recommend Domspitz Hotel too highly.

The en-suite was very small and window as facing on external security stairs no very safe. No proper ventilation no ac

Imagine this: It’s 35°C (95°F), you’re on the fourth floor during a heat wave, and the afternoon sun continues pouring into your room until after 8 p.m. The room feels like an oven. There is no effective ventilation, and the only fan provided is broken and blows hot air, making the room even more unbearable. I could not stay. Even the hallway outside was cooler than my room. I waited until after sunset hoping it would cool down, but it didn’t. Sleeping there simply wasn’t possible. To make matters worse, I was staying in an apartment separate from the hotel. After 8 p.m. the building was locked, and I was never given an emergency contact number. If I had needed assistance, there was no way to reach anyone. What disappointed me most was the hotel’s response. Rather than showing any concern for my wellbeing or offering a solution, I was simply told they were “not responsible for the weather.” This wasn’t about the weather, it was about providing a room that was reasonably livable during extreme heat and caring about a guest who had no choice but to leave. I understand the hotel does not advertise air conditioning. My complaint is not about the lack of A/C. It’s about the lack of any adequate alternative, the absence of after-hours support, and the complete lack of empathy when a guest was placed in conditions that were simply not fit to stay in. I would not recommend this property as their lack of human care is lacking.

It was perfect. Exactly what I needed. Thank you!

Great location and very friendly staff!

Staff were very accommodating. Comfortable room, very nice breakfast in the morning, and generously allowed me to leave my bag there after I checked out so I could explore Cologne without my luggage.

Location was convenient to the train station. We received a warm welcome, and our room was available ahead of schedule when we arrived.
