Unfortunately there were several major issues on this visit. In the room the tv did not work properly, the kettle was faulty and the bathroom door did not close properly. We were given another room which was great. Then the hot water failed on the hotel and we were 24 hours without hot water in the room. No gesture of goodwill offered eg a drinks voucher for the bar. I understand this was a city problem but a flat refusal from the management for any compensation for this. Not good to have to have a cold wash and hair wash. Breakfast standards gone down in the 2 months since our last visit. We visit relatives in Southampton but will be looking elsewhere for future visits.

Close to port - room is spacious . They should have put 2 queen instead of 2 tiny twin beds

Convenient to cruise port. Great breakfast buffet. Would stay here again before a cruise

We had a very pleasant stay—the room was spotless and the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was also good. Would not hesitate to book again.

Our room was upgraded to “executive”. It really wasn’t!! It was small and the bathroom was dirty. I had to clean the bath before using it. The loo flush was hanging off the wall, the loo dirty, mould around the shower and terrible scaling. The bed was comfy but the floor had crumbs on it left from the previous guest. Check in was ok but no one smiled! Staff in the bar were miserable and the service was extremely slow. Reception area was unmanned most of the time and when checking in there was only one staff member dealing with a Q of guests who were rightly getting agitated. We would not stay there again

Lovely stay

Very nice and convenient to the cruise port. Would have been total 5 star but bathroom door didn’t close properly and exterior windows need some cleaning . Staff was awesome. A vey nice looking white tablecloth restaurant on site and walkable to the waterfront which has lots of dining and shops. A very enjoyable stay, highly recommended.

We spent a long day traveling to the hotel. 10 hours on the plane and 3 hours on bus, train and cab to get to the hotel. This hotel was near the cruise harbour and previous reviews said it was nice. What very pleasant surprise when we entered the doorway to the Leonardo Grand Harbour. The concierge greeted us with cheerful salutation and said let me take your baggage and he would make sure it gets to the room after we check in. What a relief not to have to move it around any more. As we were checking in the hotel staff handed us a refreshing cool drink. When we checked in and received our keys, the concierge asked if we were going on one of the cruises. After we confirmed, he asked which cruise and what time and he would arrange for a taxi to pick us up and take us to the cruise ship in time for boarding. Another task no longer needed to arrange. Quite nice. We were tired so we ate at hotel and the food was excellent. A very nice room. We included breakfast at check-in. I will say the breakfast was excellent. A buffet with many tasty choices. The concierge held our luggage after checkout and when the taxi arrived he helped the driver load the luggage. The Hotel was top notch and the concierge was the highlight and made the stay memorable.

Reception staff were good, but concierge and some staff at Leo’s restaurant were lacking. Bathroom plumbing was very confusing so having a shower seemed impossible. Hotel was in a good location.

Excellent service from check in to check out. Lovely staff, lovely room, lovely food. Overall a great place to stay.
