Atrocious behaviour of staff as my 14 year old daughter was refused entry and assistance because she forgot our room number and the Reception refused to our room for over 10 minutes leaving her extremely distressed. Could not get porter services on the day of checkout from the room inspite of pre-alerting them over 30 minutes prior. Rooms would not be be serviced unless you called for the team. WiFi unstable the whole time, cable TV without HD in such a high end establishment, the list is endless. This is the fifth time I have stayed at Raphaelz albeit first time with family and last time I would stay there. I would not recommend it to any person. Very disappointed with the price paid.

Everything about Raphael Penthouse Suites is excellent: great location, clean and comfortable room, courteous service and very reasonable price. If I visit Johannesburg again, I will definitely stay here again.

My stay would have been good if we were not eaten up by bedbugs. We did not sleep the entire night as I was itching uncontrollably by the bites. I caught one bedbug and took it to the reception desk. The receptionist was very nice and brought me a clean sheet and blanket to sleep in the chair as I could not sleep in the bed anymore. The next morning I was told by the morning receptionist that someone would contact me from the hotel. No one did not even by email. I reported it to my credit card company, and they refused to refund my payment of $283.45 for the nights stay. My biggest fear was bringing bedbugs back into NY with me. I think it was ridiculous that the hotel did not did not refund me as I did not want to write a negative review because I was waiting for them to do the honorable thing of refunding me.
