What's the difference between a Mobile and a Physical Visit Busan Pass?

After deciding between what type of pass you want, you will also have to choose between a Physical Pass or a Mobile Pass.
The mobile pass is designed for convenience, letting you use it directly on your smartphone simply by showing the QR code at the attraction's ticket office. This means that if you have booked your Visit Busan Pass on Klook, all you have to do is show the QR code you have received after booking on your Klook app for entry. It's as simple as that!
    Visit Busan Pass Physical Card
The physical pass, on the other hand, is a tangible card you have to redeem at one of the seven physical locations along with your passport. It works by tapping or scanning at attractions, much like a transit card.
Klook Tip: While the physical Visit Busan Pass can be used as a transit card, it does not come with any pre-loaded value. So you'll have to top it up and it's good for use around Korea, even after the 24 or 48-hour validity period.

The Perks: Why I Think the Pass Can Be Absolutely Worth It

From a financial standpoint, this pass can be a huge money-saver. For instance, my 48-hour pass cost KRW 85,000 (~US$63) per person. Just one activity, like the Skyline Luge, was KRW 55,000, and Lotte World was KRW 47,000. After just two activities, I had already made back more than the cost of the pass, and by the end of my trip, I'd gotten value worth almost double what I paid! This alone made it a fantastic bargain.
But it's not just about the money. The pass really pushed me to explore more of the city than I might have otherwise. Here are some of the fantastic spots I visited with the pass:

    Skyline Luge

    Busan Skyline Luge
The Skyline Luge was my first stop, and it was a blast, very similar to the one I'd tried in Singapore. We finished it much faster than expected as the queues were short early in the day, putting us ahead of schedule.

    Lotte World

    Lotte World Adventure Busan
Don't confuse it with the one in Seoul! The Busan Lotte World is smaller, but still incredibly fun. We definitely loved the Giant Digger roller coaster that launched us from zero-to-100 km/h in a matter of seconds! I also loved the Giant Swing that was sort of like the pirate ship ride on steroids.
There are also dedicated kid zones and the theme park quintessential parade at 2pm every day - don’t miss it!

    Blue Line Park Beach Train

Haeundae Blue Line Park Train & Capsule aesthetic spot in Busan

This iconic ride has turned into one of the must-do's when in Busan. It was a surprisingly cool experience, especially the unique seating arrangement that faces outwards for scenic views.

    Songdo Cable Car

    Songdo Beach Skywalk
Offering stunning views over the sea, the Songdo Cable Car ride was beautiful, especially at sunset. For an extra special experience, I definitely recommend queueing for a crystal cabin, which features a cable car with a glass-bottom floor (you’ll get to see the sea beneath your feet!).

    Y Holic Yacht Tour

Y Holic Yacht Busan Evening Sunset
Another must do when in Busan is definitely a yacht tour that will take you pass Busan's stunning landmarks, including Marine City, Gwangan Bridge, and Dongbaek Island.
We chose a 5 PM tour to catch the sunset, and it was a lovely experience with snacks and beer. Entering was super simple just by showing the pass.
Klook Tip: There are quite a few yacht tours to choose from under the Visit Busan Pass, so pick one that best suits your timing!

    Gamcheon Culture Village

    Gamcheon Cultural Village
Known as the "Santorini of South Korea," this artistic village is one of Busan’s most Instagrammable places that’s filled with both historic and artistic significance. This village comprises colorful houses stacked in rows that are built up against the mountain, earning its nickname, “Machu Picchu of Busan”.
You can even get a cute little book of pictures at a studio there, which is covered by the pass.

    Running Man Experience

    釜山 Running Man 第 2 話
This interactive Running Man Game Show Experience was a fun way to get active, with different difficulty levels. We definitely enjoyed attempting the challenges done by our favorite Running Man stars to collect as many coins as possible within 60 minutes. What a work out it was!

    Club D Oasis Spa

    Club D Oasis Spa Busan
My final stop, and honestly, after two days of rushing around, Club D Oasis Spa was a lifesaver. It’s a spa with infinity pools and saunas located in a skyscraper. While I had a bit of a cultural shock moment in the men's sauna (be prepared to get naked in certain areas if you're not from a country where public bathhouses are common), it was ultimately very relaxing.

    Hill Spa

Similar to Club D Oasis, Hill Spa is a modern Korean spa offers various experiences across multiple floors. It was a unique and very good experience, especially if you're open to the cultural norms of public bathhouses. Think of it like a Japanese onsen!

Additional Perks with the Visit Busan Pass

Besides unlocking free entry to many activities, the Visit Busan Pass also offers additional discounts and perks, like a buy-one-get-one-free beer deal at certain places if you have it.
The convenience of just showing your pass to get tickets, as we did for the Skyline Luge, makes hopping between attractions incredibly smooth.

Tips for using the Visit Busan Pass: A Few Things to Keep in Mind

While it's a no brainer on whether you should buy the Visit Busan Pass or not, here are some tips to really get the most out of it.
    Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

    Buying the Visit Busan Pass

We got our mobile Visit Busan Pass directly from Klook and was able to use it directly at the attractions just by showing the QR code on the Klook app. This saved us a lot of trouble hunting down the physical counters and we could start exploring early the next day after arriving at Busan.

    Researching Attractions

Double-check locations! To really maximize your 24 or 48-hour pass, it's better to group the activities together based on their locations. Plan for those that you definitely want to visit at selected timings, like the yacht or cable car for the sunset slots.

Final Verdict: Is the Visit Busan Pass Worth It?

Absolutely! If you're visiting Busan for the first time and want to explore a lot of what the city has to offer, the Visit Busan Pass is a must-have. Not only will it likely save you a significant amount of money, but it also provides a structured yet flexible way to discover diverse attractions, from thrilling rides to relaxing spas and cultural villages. It genuinely enhanced my trip by encouraging me to visit places I might have skipped otherwise.
My honest opinion? Go for it! Just make sure to plan your itinerary strategically based on location to maximize your time, as Busan's attractions are spread out.
"Definitely worth it. If you plan it well, you could utilise 4-5X the amount of money you pay for this pass by strategically doing high cost items in 2 days by choosing 48hr Pass. You can do free or low cost items on other days by paying directly from your pocket.
Also plan such that you spend minimal time commuting and max time experiencing to make the most of this pass. And lastly, start with first activity at say 8-9 PM. The pass is valid for literally 48 hrs so you can enter in your last attraction on Day 2 few mins before 8-9 PM. It is easy to just show the QR code and enter everywhere."
