Unlocking the Thrills: My Top Picks for USS Rides!

Universal Studios Singapore, though smaller than some of its counterparts, packs a punch with its attractions. From heart-pounding roller coasters to immersive dark rides, there's something for everyone. Here are my absolute must-do rides that you shouldn't miss:

    Rides For the Adrenaline Junkies:

    1. Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON

best rides in universal studios singapore
Let me tell you, these two dueling roller coasters are hands down the most intense rides in the park. They battle right next to each other, and if you're lucky, you might even catch them perfectly synced, creating an incredible feeling of being in a true coaster battle.
    • Battlestar Galactica: Human (the red track) is a steel coaster that doesn't go upside down, but it hits a blistering top speed of over 90 km/h, making it super thrilling.
    • Battlestar Galactica: Cylon (the black track) is an inverted coaster that will flip you upside down multiple times with loops, corkscrews, and a cobra roll. You'll plunge into a deep pit and have some exhilarating near misses with buildings.

Klook Tip: You can't bring anything loose on these rides – that means no phones or wallets. Don't worry, lockers are conveniently located right nearby
Where you'll find it: Sci-Fi City

    2. Revenge of the Mummy

    USS Revenge of the Mummy
This is hands-down my favorite ride in the entire park. The Revenge of the Mummy is an awesome indoor roller coaster that takes you on a high-speed journey through a pharaoh's tomb, complete with amazing fire effects, scarab beetles, and even a reversal that will catch you off guard (sorry for the spoiler). The entrance gate itself is epic, and the queue itself is incredibly themed, featuring props from the movies, and the whole experience is just spectacular
Klook Tip: Just like the Battlestar Galactica coasters, you'll need to store your bags in a locker before riding. If you only ride one thing, make it this one!
Where you'll find it: Ancient Egypt

    3. TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle

best rides in universal studios singapore
An action-packed adventure awaits you at TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle, where you'll get to team up with Optimus Prime and battle the Decepticons in a 3D motion simulator. This entire ride happens indoors as you navigate from screen to screen. Thanks to CGI and hyper-realistic special effects, you will feel as if you’re zooming across the city through subways and atop buildings — all while you're seated in the same vehicle.
Where you'll find it: Sci-Fi City

    4. Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure

If you're ready for a splash, this is your ride. You'll embark on a rapids tour through the herbivore reserve, but things take a turn when you encounter escaped dinosaurs, including a T-Rex. Beware! There's a one-of-a-kind rapids elevator and a huge drop that will likely leave you soaked!
Klook Tip: Bring your own raincoat to save a few dollars, or be prepared for the human dryer.
Where you'll find it: The Lost World

    Immersive & Family-Friendly Rides:

    1. Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

    Minion Land Universal Studios Singapore
Step into Gru's world and get ready to be transformed into a minion on this all-new motion simulator ride! You'll embark on a hilarious adventure through various scenes, encountering all your favorite Despicable Me characters and some mischievous machinery. The huge screen and curated show elements make this a really fun 4D-style experience!

    2. Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase

Catch your childhood faves Elmo, Super Grover, and Big Bird in Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase as you journey through space together to catch Macaroni the Merciless. The mission? Return all the stolen spaghetti to Earth. Compared to other attractions in USS, this one is a bit more chill as the indoor ride goes at a more leisurely pace. It's perfect for young kids and all those who just want to relax and escape the heat!
Where you'll find it: New York

    3. Puss in Boots’ Giant Journey

best rides in universal studios singapore
This suspended family coaster is a real treat. The theming is fantastic, and you'll join Puss in Boots on an adventure to take eggs from a giant goose. It offers a great mix of speed and height without being too scary, making it suitable for families and those who prefer a less intense thrill. It’s surprisingly smooth but still gives you that fun stomach drop feeling.
Where you'll find it: Far Far Away

    4. Lights, Camera, Action!

    USS Lights, Camera, Action!
Hosted by Steven Spielberg, this special effects show is an absolute must-see. You'll be transported into a boat warehouse and experience what it's like to be in a Category 5 hurricane with incredibly realistic wind, water, and fire effects. It's fully indoors and air-conditioned, making it a perfect escape from the heat, and you can even bring your belongings inside.
Where you'll find it: New York

    5. Canopy Flyer

best rides in universal studios singapore
Next up on our list is the Canopy Flyer, where you'll soar above Jurassic Park on this suspended family coaster. Be prepared for fantastic bird's-eye views of the land and other parts of Sentosa! It's a relaxing yet exhilarating ride that moves at a good speed but isn't too scary, making it a great option for kids and adults alike.
Where you'll find it: The Lost World

    6. Dino-Soarin'

best rides in universal studios singapore
While Canopy Flyer is sure to be enjoyed by the whole family, Dino-Soarin' is more for the younger ones! This a peaceful and fun-filled attraction where children can control and fly their Pteranodons gently brought up and down. Kids will surely enjoy this unique experience of returning to the prehistoric time when dinosaurs once walked the earth.
Where you'll find it: The Lost World

    7. Enchanted Airways

best rides in universal studios singapore
Hop aboard Donkey's beloved Dragon for a junior steel roller coaster ride through Far Far Away. It gets quite fast with thrilling acceleration but remains child-friendly. This is a junior rollercoaster, so if you're looking for a change of pace from the park's high-speed attractions like Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON and Revenge of the Mummy - this one is for you!

Pro Tips for Your Best Day Ever at Universal Studios Singapore!

After spending ample time exploring USS, I've picked up some invaluable tips to help you maximize your fun and minimize your wait times.

    1. Go Early and Stay Late

The park is typically open from 10am to 7pm. Queue times generally peak between 11am and 1pm, dip slightly for lunch, and then pick up again around 3pm before sharply falling off after 5:00 PM. My advice? Arrive at the Universal Globe by 9:45 AM to be among the first in, and you'll practically have a "free Express Pass" during those early and late hours.

    2. Consider the Express Pass

Is the Express Pass worth the extra cost? If you want to skip long lines and save hours, then yes, absolutely! For an additional cost on top of your ticket, you can often walk straight to the front of the queue, potentially covering the entire park in half a day, even during peak times. Keep in mind, the Express Pass that covers the new Minion Land rides will cost you more.

    3. Travel Light

The less you carry, the better! Some of the most popular rides require you to store your bags in lockers, which can cost money and take up valuable time. The smaller your bag, the easier it is to manage, and you might even save on locker fees.

    4. Embrace the Circular Layout

This park is smaller than others, and it's designed in a perfect circle, with one land seamlessly leading into the next. This makes navigation super easy – you can just keep looping around!

    5. Stay Hydrated

Singapore is humid! Make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially if you're traveling solo and don't have friends reminding you.

    6. Weather Watch

Singapore can experience sudden thunderstorms. If it rains, some outdoor rides might face delays. Bringing a light raincoat can be a lifesaver, especially for the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure.

    7. Watch out for seasonal activities

USS offers many seasonal themes all year round, like Chinese New Year, Christmas, and even the signature Halloween Horror Nights. These special activities will definitely make your visit to USS even more exciting!
