The highly-anticipated Genting Outdoor Theme Park, Genting SkyWorlds is scheduled to open its doors in 2021! While we wait patiently for the new theme park to open, Genting is still a fun day trip destination in case you're itching for some cool breeze and fresh air.
There have been many drastic changes in recent years to make Genting Highlands a new entertainment hub and has become almost unrecognisable. So if you’re not one for gambling, here are some of the things you can do in Genting since the major facelift and upgrade!

    1. Go On A Shopping Spree At The Genting Highlands Premium Outlets

Genting was never quite known as a shopping haven but the new Genting Premium Outlets is definitely changing the game. You can find renowned brands like Michael Kors, Coach, Hugo Boss, Kate Spade and many more on sale for up to 70% off. Conveniently located next to the Awana Station at SkyCentral, a new transport hub for the buses and cable cars, getting there is pretty hassle-free.
You can easily spend a day at Genting Highlands Premium Outlets, going through the extensive list of shops from designer fashion to shoes, sportswear and more. When you’re tired and hungry shopping, there are also an array of dining options whether it’s the spacious food court or one of the many restaurants and cafes.
Make sure to Klook and redeem your Genting Highlands Premium Outlets Savings Passport and be entitled to exclusive rewards like a complimentary drink or F&B Meal Voucher!

So, if you missed that indoor fun, you’ll definitely enjoy the newly refurbished Skytropolis Funland. Recently unveiled many new attractions and fun rides, it’ll surely keep you occupied for a few hours.

    3. Get Your Coffee Fix At One Of The Most Unique Starbucks In Malaysia

Your trip to Genting isn't complete without sipping on some good old Starbucks coffee in the cool breeze. Although there's a handful of Starbucks stores up in Genting, this one's a unique one on the list - located inside the majestic Chin Swee Caves Temple! The architectural style of this store was conceptualized to fit in with the overall look and feel of the Chin Swee Caves Temple, surrounded by mountains and dreamy mist.

    4. Battle In A Galaxy Far, Far Away At The Void

Another attraction to be opened soon in Genting Highlands is The VOID, a state-of-the-art fully immersive VR experience. Scheduled to open its doors on 6 December 2018, you can immerse in an alternate reality.
Disguised as a Stormtrooper and battle in the Star Wars VR attraction, sneak into the world of the Internet with Wreck-It Ralph, be part of the Ghostbusters, and more at The VOID!

    5. Jalan-Jalan In SkyAvenue

What used to be the First World Indoor Theme Park is now a multi-level complex of shops, restaurants, fun attractions, services and more. You will see it the moment you get down from the SkyAvenue Station of the new cable car.
With plenty to eat, see, and do, in Genting Highlands’ brand new lifestyle mall, this is certainly bringing high street shopping to a whole new level! Minutes and hours easily pass by in a blink of an eye while wandering around the massive new shopping mall.

    6.  Explore The Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Adventureland

On the top floor of SkyAvenue is the brand new Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Adventureland. It’s hard to miss the entrance with its massive armoured elephant on each side. In the Adventureland, you can visit the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium, Zombie Outbreak, and Jurassic Research Center.
Walk through the exciting world of weird and wacky at the Odditorium, scare yourself silly in the terrifying Zombie Outbreak, and say hello to the dinosaurs at the Jurassic Research Center. Outside the attractions are also rustic-looking carts selling local delights and memorabilia.

    7. Challenge Your Buddies At PlayTime!

For those who LOVE the arcade at Genting Highlands, don’t worry, you won’t be deprived of your video games. In the Adventureland area, there’s also an arcade, PlayTime!, complete with all your usual gaming favourites.
Who can relate to the dreaded “Out of Service” service sign for that one popular game most of the old arcades? Since everything is still new, you most likely won’t have to encounter that at PlayTime!

    8. Catch The Hourly SkySymphony Display

Spreading across the mall’s atrium are massive LED displays and every hour, you can witness cinematic visuals combined with specially-composed music. Free to watch for the patrons of the mall, the SkySymphony also has a four-storey high winch installation made of 1,001 winch balls.
Watch as this theatre of lights and sound come together for a spectacular visual storytelling. Whether you’re watching from the bottom floor or right at the top, it’s equally memorable.

    9. Have A Food Marathon

Food marathon? In Genting? Needless to say, we can all remember how much of a pain it used to be, having to decide where to eat in Genting. With very limited choices and extremely long queues, enjoying your food was the least of your worry.
You’ll be very glad to hear that now, you have more dining options than your belly can accommodate! You can feast at the much-hyped Burger & Lobster London, the highly-raved Beauty In The Pot, the Brooklyn favourite pizzeria Motorino (complete with a wood fire oven and all) or simply enjoy a cup of coffee at the iconic French brasserie, Cafés Richard.
Besides that, there are plenty of local favourites and familiar eateries like Nyonya Colors, Madam Kwan’s, Absolut Thai, Go Noodle House, and many more. For those who prefer the food court, there’s also Malaysian Food Street where you can get binge on all the yummy street food favourites.

    10. Have A Glamping Adventure
