Singapore’s cityscape comes alive during Art Week in a beautiful display of colours!
For a limited time only Singapore’s art belt including the likes of the National Gallery, The Art House, Victoria Theatre & Concert Hall, Asian Civilisations Museum and The Esplanade come alive with a kaleidoscope of colours in a bold display of art.
Here’s a sneak peek of the spectacular displays to get you excited.

The entire route covers about 1.5km and will take approximately 20-mins if you don’t stop for pictures, but given the unique opportunity, how can you not?

1. House of Mirrors – Empress Lawn @ Victoria Theatre
Get lost in the labyrinth of endless mirrors where all you see is your reflection all around you. This installation mimics the inside of a kaleidoscope and the optical illusions and many reflections can be pretty disorienting. Be careful not to walk into a mirror!
2. Trip to the Colourscape – Esplanade Park
Watch the trees come to life at Esplanade Park as the vibrant hues of pink and blue lights dance across the fields of grass. The disco balls hanging on the trees create shadows on the ground, making you feel as if you’ve stepped into a
Also not to be missed is the Esplanade Tunnel where special sensors have been installed to capture the sounds you make while crossing the tunnel! Stomp on the side panels or clap your hands and see how the lights change colors in response to your movements.
3. Tropical Primitive Hut – Lawn @ Asian Civilisations Museum
Designed by first year National University of Singapore architecture students, this tropical primitive hut was inspired by the Singapore weather! Step inside the the hut and take shelter from Singapore’s rapid urban development.

Don’t be afraid to venture into the museum to take a peek into the brainchild of some of Singapore’s most eclectic purveyors of the arts. Upon stepping into the entrance of the museum, you’ll be greeted by a giant crochet masterpiece by Kelly Limerick. This 4 metre wide piece is made up of many little diamonds inspired by the color wheel.
After that, head up to the life sized treasure chest, home to a kaleidoscope of porcelain patterns that will take you into a whole new world! This dreamlike multi sensory experience is so surreal you might never want to leave.
Lastly, step into a jungle of curious creatures, peeking at you from the different corners of the dark room.
4. Art Skins on Monuments – Facades of multiple landmarks
Some of Singapore’s iconic cultural institutions light up in a colourful display not to be missed. The National Gallery Singapore, Victoria Theatre, The Arts House and The Asian Civilisations Museum all receive new looks once the clock strikes eight. As you stroll along the streets of Singapore, take in these multimedia images, designed by some of Singapore’s best designers.
If you wish to avoid the crowd, hop onto the FunVee Night Tour bus and let the bus take you around Singapore’s highlights! Other crowd-free viewing spots include the Marina Bay Sands Skypark and 1 – Altitude. You can also skip walking completely by renting a E-scooter!
5. Chromascope – Facade of National Gallery
The interactive installation on the facade of the National Gallery will have you stomping the night away! Stomp on the Chromascope stomping pads as hard as you can to power up the display. Challenge your friends to a leg workout and see who can illuminate their column the fastest!
Also on the Padang fields are food and drink tents as well as arts and crafts booths for you to eat, shop and be merry, all while taking in the beautiful light installations all around you. The lights also make for great pictures that will give everyone else a good dose of #instagramenvy!
