More about the Social Service Agencies #KlookCares Supports
Allkin Singapore
Allkin Singapore supports both the youth and elderly with their Active Ageing Centres and student academies in Ang Mo Kio, Cheng San, and Sengkang.
The Active Ageing Centres aim to help engage the elderly and support their wellbeing through volunteering initiatives and befriending opportunities. Similarly, Allkin Singapore's student academies aim to enhance social, emotional, and intellectual learning and development for students between 7-14 years old, and give them the confidence and opportunities to achieve their hopes and dreams.

Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: In Singapore, where there is a strong ageing population, it is more crucial now than ever for us to uplift the vulnerable and isolated seniors among us.
I joined the social service sector not only to enhance the support provided to these seniors, but more importantly, to enable them to live purposefully within the community, which resonates with Allkin Singapore’s belief where every resident has the opportunity to live meaningful lives and uplift fellow neighbours.
Q: What’s your most memorable experience on the job?
A: There was a senior who joined our Active Ageing Centre (AAC) during the
height of Covid-19. Initially, he was very reluctant to participate at the centre as he felt that he wouldn’t make any friends. Through our convincing, he finally relented, began to open up, and
started coming down frequently. After some time, he began to join fellow seniors in planning games for other elderly neighbours to engage in, and even developed a habit of buying snacks for the members to enjoy.
However, he suffered a stroke which led to him being in the hospital for 2 months. Though he wasn’t in his best condition, being around his now close-knit group of friends made him happy to return after he was discharged. The other seniors checked in on him regularly, and he ‘repaid’ their kindness by treating them to a meal. It was heartening to see how his life transformed thanks to the power of community, which was built through the AAC!
Blossom Seeds
All seniors desire a life with good health, dignity, economic independence and finally a peaceful demise. Blossom Seeds is an enterprise that helps seniors stay socially connected and meaningfully engaged through constant learning and volunteer work.
Blossom Seeds believes that by staying active, seniors can be happy and purposefully driven - allowing them to blossom in their golden years.

Senior Programme Executive
Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: I want to give my best to seniors in terms of helping them with socialisation, as well as physical and mental wellness.
Q: What’s your most memorable experience on the job?
A: The most memorable experience is when I see the seniors smiling and laughing. It inspires me to give more.
Care Corner
Founded in 1981, Care Corner Singapore Ltd initially started with the goal to help bridge the widening rift between the wealthy and the lower-income, particularly the Chinese blue-collar workers.
Today, Care Corner has evolved into a leading social service agency. With 43 service points across Singapore, Care Corner serves children with special learning needs or from disadvantaged backgrounds, youth-at-risk, troubled families, vulnerable seniors and individuals with counselling and mental health needs.

Centre Supervisor
Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: I am driven by the profound impact individuals can have on one another. Witnessing the transformative power of empowering one person extends far beyond—they become pillars within their families and communities.
This ripple effect fuels my commitment to offer unwavering support and empowerment to each client, knowing the enduring difference it makes.
Q: What’s your most memorable experience on the job?
A: Witnessing the bright smiles on the faces of our seniors as they relive cherished moments or achieve what they once deemed impossible encapsulates the heart of my work. For instance, seeing Mrs. Chaw reconnect with her passion for painting after years of disconnection from her artistic side or Mr. Lim joyfully engaging in Qi Gong despite initial reservations - these moments affirm the transformative power of our programmes.
Additionally, the enthusiasm displayed by our seniors in embracing new experiences and activities fuels our dedication to creating a vibrant and more inclusive environment.
Lions Befrienders
Lions Befrienders is a multi-generational, extended family filled with love that aims to serve and enrich the lives of seniors in the community. Lions Befrienders hopes to provide safe spaces for seniors, where they can connect and support one another.

Senior Centre Manager
Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: It has been my childhood dream to serve the less fortunate. I chose the seniors’ sector because I feel that this group needs more love and help than any other age group.
I love planning events and activities to help them regain their confidence and encourage them to stay active, healthy and positive for the rest of their golden years.
Q: What’s your most memorable experience on the job?
A: The most memorable experiences are seeing changes in seniors - either lifestyle, (becoming healthier) or more cheerful (coming out of isolation, being active and socialising).
I also feel very fulfilled when I mentor others and see them achieve their potential.
TOUCH Community Services
Since 1992, TOUCH Community Services has served people of all ages, races and religions, from children and youth at-risk, to families in need and senior citizens. The heartbeat of TOUCH is to activate potential, build independence, connect people, and deliver impact by developing sustainable solutions in society.
In the Spotlight: Denise Liew, 52
Executive, TOUCHpoint@Yishun 162
Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: I have chosen to work in the community care sector as I hope to inspire hope and impact the lives of seniors. It is important for seniors to stay active, and be empowered to take charge of their own physical and mental well-being, so that they can enjoy a better quality of life within the community.
Q: What’s your most memorable experience on the job?
A: I feel touched to see socially isolated seniors regaining their confidence and doing what they can to help their vulnerable neighbours. For example, one of our seniors, who used to be depressed following her husband’s death, managed to overcome her fears with support from her peers and TOUCH.
She is now staying socially active and contributing as a volunteer at our centre. Such seniors are a testament to the meaningful work we do in keeping seniors happy, healthy and helpful.
Blue & Orange CHAS cardholders
Serving a wider community of vulnerable families from the lower income bracket, GoodHood.SG is also offering this opportunity for young families who may not belong to any of the partner social service agencies mentioned above to also benefit from this meaningful campaign that the Klook community has enabled.
Beyond this event, the young families can continue to be integrated into their communities digitally via the app as a step closer towards reviving the kampung spirit!
