Hotel on first impression looks good however further inspection shows it is in need of updating. Many aspects of the room upon arrival, batnroom plus hole and soap dish limescale and dirty, no aircon, kettle had limescale, tpilet roll holder loose. One lift out of action as was the jacuzzi. Manager was rude, told me to stop talking when trying to address concerns and made excuses when issues raised in writing.. Spa staff nice that we came across. Breakfast okay. It clearly has not been maintained since asylum seekers were housed 3 years ago Could be a lovely place but strongly recommend aircon in all rooms and improvements in maintenance. Not the best experience Avoid until all aspects have been sorted

The pictures do not give a true representation of the hotel. It’s very tired around the edges. Paint peeling and broken chairs outside. The breakfast was poor. Under stocked and the staff, though tried, were slow and couldn’t keep up. They were young and trying their best but lacked leadership. The reception on arrival was unmanned and when I was welcomed, it seemed I was a nuisance when I asked questions about dining. The hotel pool was fine. But the jacuzzi was not working and pool side area again not very well maintained. My room had no air conditioning, a fan was provided!! I did have a small patio so was able to have the window doors open. Over all the hotels lacked the promise of the pictures. It wasn’t a bad stay but I will not be staying again unfortunately. Such a shame, with a little bit of effort this hotel could raise its standards significantly.

The positives are that the staff were friendly and helpful, my room was large and the hotel has good amenities. The lobby area is nicely decorated. The negatives are the rest of the hotel could do with a bit of care - the carpet in my room had a couple of stains as did the bed base. They also leave the windows open in the corridors so a few moths had flown in. The breakfast food was ok, but the drinks were terrible.

A birthday treat for my daughter and I. The rooms are tired and the shower in the bath was awful. I know it’s unusually hot at the moment but the room was like a sauna! We asked for another fan but to no avail. Desk staff not at all helpful and welcoming. Spa staff were lovely and we had a very enjoyable massage with a really lovely lady. The restaurant staff were also very friendly and helpful.

The menu which is in the room folder looks really quite inviting with a good selection of all the 3 courses. Unfortunately when you get seated and handed the actual menu it’s been trimmed with less options available. This is potentially due to the number of British Gas engineers, 25+ vans in the carpark who are limited on evening meal spends having a budget. I did chose the Mediterranean tagliatelle which was soooo bland with no seasoning or herbs, just the pasta, chopped up courgette and a pinkish sauce. 2nd night I chose pork loin as I knew I could rely on a pig to get it right without too much intervention. mushrooms ok, mash potato was like a brick. I think the hotel is just cashing in on the British Gas contracts and letting the general people down. Just like when it was an asylum centre. Definitely looking for another hotel in the area next time. Not worth the money whatsoever.

No AC, very warm hotel and rooms. Arrived late yet despite calling and telling reception there was no one around at arrival. Had to walk around and find someone. Rooms and hotel very dated. No bottled water. Breakfast experience felt very weird and unwelcoming. Tried to check out next day but again no one on reception so eventually just left!

The room I had was clean & comfortable the bar & restaurant staff were friendly. The hotel overall is a bit worn out & could do with refitting/decorating. No fridge in the room which I really noticed in the warm weather. My son had a second room with no fridge or aircon.

Very disappointed with my mon-fri stay. Right from the offset the very rude receptionist at check in disputed my daily included breakfast, even though it was written in black and white on my invoice! The hotel smells 'old', the decor is like stepping back 20 years. The room decor was very aged, the tv was at least 20 yrs old and had a broken remote control. On the last evening I even discovered a bed bug on top of my bed which meant I left the hotel during the night! Good luck if you are ever unfortunate enough to stay at this hotel in the future

Tired, old hotel which is clearly not being maintained. Lift was out of service in March 26 and still same in late July when I gave it a second try. Rooms have no aircon, staff don’t care and don’t think ahead - no fridges in the rooms, barely useful fans. It’s a heatwave in the area and they didn’t think to have a stock of bottled water in the bar fridge.
