I have stayed with Rey Apartments several times and would stay again. Clean, spacious, comfortable, excellent communication. Great value for the price. Location is easily walkable to all areas in Reykjavik. Highly recommend. . ,

The Rey Apartments are in a great location. They are clean and the kitchen is handy to have.

No Breakfast service; Kitchen is okay but not super clean, no services and only meet reception has to walk out to find actual lodging in another building a bit tiring

Good news: Right in the heart of everything. Bad news: The heart stays up until 4AM. The location was fantastic in the daytime; right next to a great bakery and walking distance to dining, shopping, transportation and everything. But for people looking to sleep on a Friday or Saturday night after midnight, be wary. This is in the party area and a somewhat busy road. This was exacerbated by us being on the 1st floor with the sidewalk and street immediately outside our window (which due to the temperature Iceland hotels keep their rooms, had to remain open). Very loud until 4AM. The upper floors were probably a little better but bring ear plugs.

Good studio for two adults and teen. Well equipped and excellent location. Only negative was the big windows out to the yard which meant there was no privacy when other neighbours were coming and going or smoking out there, unless we had blinds down which meant it was very dark.

Unbelievable location. Apartment is located in the perfect spot to explore all the must sees in Reykjavik. We had a little confusion with the check in process, but the host answered our call and guided us through it.

The location was excellent and within easy walking distance of Hallgrímskirkja Church, Rainbow Street, shops, restaurants, and a very cute secondhand shop right across the street. Communication with the manager was great. They let us drop our bags early, helped with check-in, and changed the gate codes for us, which we really appreciated. We stayed in room 1107, and it was huge. It was also nice that there were no stairs to get into the room. The kitchenette was lovely and made it easy to prepare some food during our stay. The blackout curtains were excellent, which was helpful in Reykjavík’s long daylight hours. One helpful tip: there are two free parking spots across from the entrance gate, slightly down to the left near the blue building. If they are open, ask the owner about using them because parking nearby can be expensive. The only downsides were that the room had a musty/mildew smell when we first arrived, though it improved during our stay. The king bed was not very comfortable, and one of the sofas worked for our daughter to sleep on but was pretty hard. I unfortunately had a pretty uncomfortable experience. The location is good and very walkable, and the unit itself was generally clean. The beds seemed clean and the space was not messy, so I will give credit for that. However, the security situation made me feel really uneasy. When I first arrived, I accidentally went to the wrong unit. The door code I had been given opened that unit, so I assumed it was the correct one. Someone inside then told me I was actually next door. When I went to the correct unit, the same code also opened my door. That made me feel very unsafe because it gave me the impression that the same code may be used for multiple units, meaning other people could potentially access someone else’s room. On top of that, while someone was helping me find my unit, one of the staff said my door code out loud while other people were nearby, which felt careless and uncomfortable. The other major issue was the smell. As soon as I walked into the unit, there was a very AWFUL sewer smell. It was especially bad in the bathroom, but it spread throughout the whole unit. I had to keep the window open the entire time I was there because the smell was so strong. It made the stay really unpleasant, and there was nothing I could do to fix it. Overall, the location was convenient and the room was not necessarily dirty, but between the security concerns and the horrible sewer smell, I would not stay here again. It made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable as a solo traveler.

The property is in a great location, and overall we enjoyed our stay. The shower could use an update, though. We stayed on the second floor and could hear every group coming into the building because the heavy entrance doors slammed shut each time. I understand the doors need to be heavy due to the weather, but the noise was noticeable, especially at night. We parked at P3 location, which is only a few blocks away, for lower parking charge. We only made hot water for coffee and tea. Overall is good since it is in the middle of the city.
