Kawaguchiko Hotel is an older property and we stayed in a traditional room on futons instead of in a modern hotel room. The futons were comfortable. Our room was a little hot, but we did not go to management to try to have that fixed. There was plenty of space to spread out (there were three of us traveling together), including a cute seating area by the window. They happily held our luggage for us when we arrived early, and provided a ride to the train station in the morning (which was very nice).

You cannot beat the delicious traditional breakfast, a view to Mount Fuji in the hot bath and easy access to Lake Kawaguchiko. The facility is a bit dated but it was kept clean. Still a very good option to stay a few nights visiting the area.

Our Fuji Exress train got cancelled because of Typhoon and we couldn’t find any other way because all the other ways of transport were close due to typhoon so we couldn’t find any other way to get there at Kawaguchiko. We called the hotel to cancel and refund but they didn’t even listen to us. The staff who picked up the phone didn’t speak English well and he said he cannot cancel or refund. So we waisted 300 dollars worth of stay for not even being there and something which was out of our control. I would not recommend booking this hotel in advance. Very rude staff on the phone.

Lovely old fashioned Japanese Hotel. It is in a beautiful location overlooking the lake with Mount Fuji off to the side. Breakfast is worth it do note it is Japanese breakfast - we loved it. Rooms are large for Japan & have everything you need. My Husband enjoyed the onsen which has lovely views and area to sit & relax afterwards. Would definitely stay here again if we ever return to Kawaguichiko. Thanks to all the wonderful staff. We used shuttle for return to station but as we arrived early we got a taxi to Hotel which cost 800yen for 3 of us
