We had a fantastic experience at Mari Mari Cultural Village! The entire visit was incredibly well organized, interactive, and enjoyable from beginning to end. We loved the way each tribe and its unique culture were presented in such an engaging and authentic way. One of the best parts was tasting the traditional food from each tribe while learning about their customs and history—it made the experience even more memorable. Our guide was exceptional. His English was excellent, and he explained everything with enthusiasm, knowledge, and a great sense of humor. We were equally impressed by the performers, who brought the traditions to life with passion, warmth, and genuine smiles. Their hospitality and dedication made us feel truly welcome. You can clearly see how much effort the whole team puts into creating an unforgettable experience. It is absolutely worth every ringgit, and we highly recommend Mari Mari Cultural Village to anyone visiting Sabah.
It was a really fun and pleasant experience for my friend and me at Mari Mari Cultural Village! The staff were so helpful when we were trying on the traditional costumes and getting our hair done. The photography session was super cute too! We were pleasantly surprised that we got to wear the traditional costumes for the rest of the tour. The explanation of the rich heritage was very interesting. We also got to try some traditional food and rice wine during the tour. The dance performance was outstanding, and the talented team playing the instruments made it even more enjoyable. Big shoutout to one of the intern staff, Ika, for helping us throughout the tour. We absolutely love the photos you took for us! 🥰🥰🥰💖💖💖
It was a memorable and inquiring experience. The village showcased the prominent tribes that resided in Borneo. I really loved how they reserved the traditions through tourism. And they actually are proud of their tradition. We booked a guided tour which was basically entrance fee with a guide provided by the village, no lunch or transportation included. If you booked something like us, make sure to arrange transportation for the way back since it might be hard to get a ride back into town. If you came during rainy season, make sure to bring something to cover yourself from the rain since it might be quite wet.
Arrangement of logistics was seamless. Tour operator got in touch a day before trip and communicated itinerary and meeting time. Driver was punctual and we reached the village in good time, despite it being a national holiday. Village was rather authentic and showcased quite a few activities of yesteryears. Many opportunities for food and drinks tasting in between too. Lunch was also simple and hearty. Guides were friendly and fluent in English. All in all, a wonderful way to spend half a day in Sabah.
Awesome cultural experience in MariMari Culture Village. Highly recommened trip, and thanks to our to tour guide Azaz/Lisa for the wonderful explanation on cultural difference for each dusun. The package came with simple buffet lunch which is quite satisfied.
Inside the jungle, you get a taste of the good stuff. And by good stuff, I mean delicious tasting local food. Now, this place isn't just about food. It's fun and informative, a double whammy. They showcase five tribes, and let me tell you, the headhunter tribes? They tried their best to be intimidating – with a big grin on their faces, of course. The show at the end of the tour is super cool. They've got this performance that's both entertaining and a sneak peek into the local culture. And then the lunch itself is super tasty as well. Long story short – Mari Mari Cultural Village is a sweet deal. It's like a fun jungle crash course with tasty rewards. Totally worth checking out! Tip for Grab users: go for the morning show, then you have a good chance of finding a taxi for the way back. Before the start of the afternoon show, taxis will most likely arrive to bring visitors for the afternoon show. That's how we came back.
You must try to visit this village if you are a tourist in Sabah to see/hear their different cultures, long houses, dancing, show and even sample their snacks for free. Everything is good except that no transport provided if you buy from Klook. This is the only setback. We had to book a grab ourselves to go there and we have to book their taxi coming back to city which is quite ex. Klook, pls try to arrange for this wonderful activities together with transports so that in the future more tourists benefit from it. Thank You.
Good experience of the nature and cultural of Sabah for the kids. The guide was fun and suprisingly the toilets are very clean . Lunch inclusive was great and worth the price, the 2 hour period was fulfilling and just nice. For others who wish to visit do book your grab return 2 ways. Overall well recommended.
I had an amazing experience learning about Sabah's diverse ethnic and cultural groups. It is highly recommended. Visitors will be accompanied by an internal tour guide.
Enjoyed the tour very much. It was interactive. Just need to register and they scan the qr code. We were divided into smaller group and were brought around the village.
