Booked the Viva Old Manila Walking Tour through Klook and had a great experience. Our guide, Russell, was incredibly knowledgeable and informative, sharing fascinating stories and historical insights throughout the tour. We visited 8 stops around Intramuros, and each location came with its own unique history and significance. What I appreciated most was how Russell connected the stories to present-day Manila, making the tour both engaging and educational. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Manila and wanting to gain a deeper understanding of the city's rich history and culture.
A big shoutout to our incredible tour guide, Cedhie. He was incredibly accommodating. He coordinated with us over WhatsApp and allowed us to reschedule and the tour itself was worth every single penny. Cedhie is extremely patient, friendly, and highly informative. He brought a tablet along to show us historical photos and aerial views of how the area looked back in the 1930s, making the history of Fort Santiago and Intramuros truly come alive. We got to explore beautiful landmarks, including the historic gates of Fort Santiago and the stunning Manila Cathedral. He also made sure we were well taken care of throughout the walk. If you are visiting Manila, this walking tour is an absolute must-do.
The tour was very worth it! We did it under a scorching heat but it was bearable because Russell ( the tour guide) was so amazing and knowledgeable. as a Filipino, it was really good to be re-educated about PH history and as for my non- Filipino partner, he appreciated knowing more about my roots and especially knowing bits and pieces of what happened in the past. Steve is a great guide! He's knowledgeable and dynamic and very engaging. We had such a great time learning about Intramuros, Firt Santiago, Jose Rizal, WW2, Manila Cathedral (and its 8 builds!), and San Agustim Church. We love him so much!
