The Phu Quoc Night Market is a must-do night activity. You’ll find the freshest seafood (most still swimming in its tank), rolled ice cream and even fake pearls you can take home as souvenirs! This place is all about the food so grab some freshly grilled prawns paired with an ice cold beer and you’re all set for the night.
The Dinh Cau Rock, more commonly known as the Cau Temple is a strangely shaped natural formation sitting on the beach. Many local fisherman flock to this temple to pray before heading out on fishing excursions. Featuring a brightly coloured lighthouse, it also makes for great pictures.

The Suoi Tranh Waterfall located within the Ham Ning Mountains is a perfect escape from the bustling town centre. This four metre tall waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery, natural caves and rock pools! Take a leisurely hike through the jungle and try to spot wildlife species or pack a picnic and just enjoy your surroundings!
The Phu Quoc National park comprises of more than half of the island’s northern region, making it perfect for those on a tropical vacation pursuit. THis UNESCO Biosphere Reserve is home to unique flora and fauna and dense mountain ranges, making is great for nature lovers. Spot rare wildlife like long-tailed macaques, otters, hornbills and even a slow loris!
The Sung Hung Pagoda consists of 2 shrines that have been around since the early 10th century. The front courtyard features the statue of the Goddess of Mercy while the prayer house behind is home to Buddha statues and intricate paintings. Do note that you will have to be dressed appropriately if you wish to enter the building.

Phu Quoc Must Eats
Grilled Sea Urchin is a local’s favorite in Phu Quoc! Retaining the richness of the urchins, these are grilled atop charcoal and topped with black pepper, salt, lime juice and spring onions. You can get these at the Phu Quoc Night Market.
This rustic dish is not your usual salad! The raw herring is mixed with freshly grated coconut, mint and onion and wrapped with fresh vegetables in rice paper. Be sure to dip your wrap in some fish sauce that the island is famous for! The salad also usually comes served with a sauce made from chilli, garlic, peanuts and fish sauce, giving you a savory spicy mix you won’t forget. This dish can be found in most local restaurants.
The speciality of the island is Flower Crab! These fresh crabs are caught usually within the same day and boiled, retaining the natural sweetness of the crab. It comes served with a sauce consisting of black pepper, salt and lime juice. If you like crab roe, be sure to request for a female crab!
