Kelong Dinner at Nirwana Gardens

When visiting a coastal city, you can almost always be certain that you’ll get great seafood! Head to the Kelong Seafood restaurant at Nirwana Gardens for some of the freshest seafood while taking in views of the South China Sea! For the uninitiated, kelongs are built on stilts and sit just above the sea, which also means you get to enjoy the sea breeze while eating!

Weekend market at Lagoi Bay

If you’re looking to bring some souvenirs home, head over to the weekend markets at Lagoi Bay for some live music while shopping! You can even pick up street snacks to munch on while browsing for toys, apparel and of course a memory from your trip in Bintan!

Trikora Beach

Located on the east side of Bintan Island is a beautiful white sand beach - Trikora Beach! Scattered with boulders along with the rows of kelongs and fisherman, this is probably one of the most picturesque beaches we've ever seen. If you’re keen, you can even set up shop at the kelongs to fish! After all that exploring, fill your bellies with some wood fired pizza at Casa Italia Pizzeria, made fresh right in front of your eyes.

Berakit Sea Gypsies Village

If you’re curious about how the locals live, head to the Berakit Sea Gypsies village! If you’re wondering how the village got its name, the locals believe that these sea gypsies have existed in the Bintan waters for centuries and are expert fisherman. They live self sustaining nomadic lives, making their own boats and fishing nets.
