Marble mountains

The marble mountains in Da Nang are a cluster of five limestone and marble hills in Da Nang. The mountain range is famous for its peaks, caves, temples and tunnels that lie hidden within. Climb up the marble mountains and be rewarded with stunning views of the My Khe Beach or discover deep into the caves and uncover bullet holes from way back.

Hoi An

Labelled a UNESCO World Heritage site, Hoi An is just a short 45-minute drive away from Da Nang. Stop by the ancient Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, a temple with strong chinese influence. The Japanese covered bridge is probably the most visited spot in Hoi An. Used previously to link the Japanese community to the Chinese quarters, apart from being a beautiful piece of architecture, it also holds historical significance.

The port town of Hoi An also boasts preserved French colonial houses, pagodas and so much more. Once considered one of the most important trading ports in the South China Sea, sail along the river to soak up the surrounding sights or visit the many restaurants along the river.

Klook Tip: Visit on a full moon and witness the mesmerizing spectacle of paper lanterns floating down the river! The locals do this to usher in good luck, and it is truly a sight to watch the town come alive under flickering candle light.

Hue Imperial Citadel

I’m sure many of us have heard of the Forbidden City in China, but did you know that Vietnam has their own? Hue had been ruled by the Nguyen Dynasty and is often referred to as Vietnam’s imperial city.

The Imperial Citadel was reserved only for the most important people of Vietnam. While many of the temples, pavilions and walls were damaged during the war, the beautiful gates and restored halls are still worth a visit.
