Your one stop Bangkok airport guide
Now that you’ve booked your trip to Bangkok, you’ll be needing basic travel essentials like a 4G SIM Card, Bangkok Skytrain Pass and Airport Rail Link to get around. Better yet, you can even pre-book your slot at one of Bangkok’s best massage chains and pick up your tickets to attractions like SEA Life at a steal! The best part? You can get all of these in one place before heading out of the airport!
Head to the Klook counter in the Suvarnabhumi Airport located at B Floor, RC6, just next to the Airport Rail Link station and present your Klook voucher to redeem your items! Here are the things you can pick up at the Klook Counter:
Don Mueang Airport (DMK)
If you’re landing in Don Muang Airport, you can also pick up the following items at the Arrival Hall Gate 2 where a staff will be waiting with a Klook sign :
When you’re in Bangkok, you’ll definitely need a 4G SIM Card. Whether you’re navigating your way to the next location or posting some Instagram stories the uses for the 4G SIM Card are endless! Plus, since there is UNLIMITED data, you don’t have to worry about exceeding the limit. It also comes with 100 THB of credits for those emergency calls.
For a quick and fuss-free way from the airport to the city, the Bangkok Airport Rail Link will take you to the city in no time!
A trip from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Makkasan will only take you 20 minutes and from there you can transfer to the MRT lines to your hotel. If you stay closer to a BTS station, alight at Phaya Thai to transfer trains.
With services available from 5.30am to 12.00am every 15 minutes, you won't have to worry about not having transport out of the airport.
For the uninitiated, the Bangkok SkyTrain is one of the most convenient ways to get around Bangkok, especially since most of your usual shopping spots and tourist attractions are located near a BTS station.
This One Day BTS Pass will be your lifesaver if you hate queues! For those who have never bought a single trip BTS ticket before, here’s how the process goes. You’ll have to join the long snaking queues at the ticket kiosks and select your fare accordingly. This means you can’t suddenly change your mind on the trains and alight at a different stop if it does not fall within the same distance fare otherwise you’ll have to head to the counter to pay the difference.
Secondly, the machines only accept coins, so unless you have a pouch full of coins, get ready to join a separate queue just to change your notes into coins.
With the One Day BTS Pass, you’ll just need to pick up your pass from the Klook booth at the airport and activate them at any ticket office on the day of use. This gives you UNLIMITED trips on the BTS for the whole day!
If you require the pass for multiple days, just buy multiple passes and only activate them on the day of your use.
Here are some of the most popular Bangkok attractions and their nearby BTS stations:
If you hate waiting in line and being stuck in the notorious Bangkok traffic jams, you'll probably be getting around mostly via the BTS Skytrain!
The BTS Skytrain Rabbit card is your hassle free way of getting single trip tickets, especially if you are a frequent traveller to Bangkok! Simply load up your card with the funds required for the trip and tap your Rabbit card at the gantry.
Klook your BTS Skytrain Rabbit Card and you can use it immediately upon picking it up at the Bangkok Airport. It comes preloaded with a credit of THB200 and you'll even get THB1 discount for every single trip taken on the BTS Skytrain!
For those of you with plans to visit one of South East Asia’s LARGEST aquariums, SEA Life, we’d suggest picking up your tickets at the airport so you can enter the park directly! After all, the queues at the SEA Life ticketing counter can be pretty long.
If you haven’t decided whether or not to visit SEA Life, you can also opt for pick-up at the SEA Life booth in Siam Paragon right outside the entrance. You’ll still get to skip the long ticketing counter queues and pick up your tickets instead at a separate queue! The booth is located at B1-B2 Floor of Siam Paragon.
The best way to relax on a holiday is a visit to the spa! One of Bangkok’s most popular spas - Health Land Spa. Whether you’re looking for an Aromatherapy body massage or a traditional Thai massage, they’ve got you covered.
With outlets conveniently located across the city, it won’t be hard to find one near you.You will need to schedule your time slot directly with Health Land Spa so we recommend booking a slot and planning your day around it. All you'll need to do is call the outlet of your choice and inform them of your desired package and time slot.
Other Bangkok Essentials
If you haven’t already changed your currency into local currency, head to the many money changers there that you’ve passed by on your way to the Klook booth!
With so many money changers there, if you're unsure which one to go to, we'd recommend the Super Rich 1965 or Super Rich Thailand money exchange chains. These two counters usually have the longest queues and for good reason! We hear they give some of the best rates that will surely give you a bang for your buck!
Lastly, if you are starving the moment you land or want to fill your bellies before a long flight out of Bangkok, head to the airport food court for an authentic Thai meal! We all know food in the airports can be ridiculously expensive and might not taste the best. While a set meal at Burger King could set you back THB 400, a bowl of boat noodles will only cost you THB 30-50!
But nestled in the Suvarnabhumi Airport is a hidden gem - the Magic Food Point food court offers cheap and authentic Thai fare! Head over to L1 and the food court is located near door 8. Don’t forget to purchase a stack of coupons from the counter at the entrance as the food stalls do not accept cash.
If you are not flying into any of the Bangkok airports, you can also pick your essentials up in Siam Centre, right in the heart of Bangkok. Simply head over to the Klook booth before getting started on your shopping!
You can pick up the following items at Siam Centre :
The booth is located at Siam Center M Floor, next to escalator (beside Etude House).
Address: 979 Rama 1 Road, Pathumwan Bangkok 10330, Thailand Pick up time: 10:00am-10:00pm Getting there: Take BTS Siam Station Exit 1 or Exit 3
If you’re not one for public transport, especially if you’re travelling with huge luggages or in a big group, we suggest getting an airport transfer for a comfortable ride to your hotel.
If you’re bored of the city life and want a quick escape, a day trip out of the city to nearby Khao Yai might be your best bet! Located just 2.5 hours away from Bangkok, check out some of the highlights of Khao Yai!
