2. By Train

The train lines in Japan are known to be extremely confusing, especially with so many lines and types of trains, it might be difficult to figure out which line to take. After that long flight, you definitely would not want to be caught in a situation where you get caught in a traffic jam!

There are 2 ways to get from Narita Airport to Tokyo by train, namely the Keisei Skyliner and the Narita Express. While they both have similar prices and journey times, the differentiating factor would have to be in the ticketing and the destinations! If you are holding on to a Japan Rail Pass, we would recommend the Narita Express as it is covered by the JR pass. This means you can save on extra transport costs. However, if you are heading to Ueno Station instead of Tokyo Station, you should hop onto the Keisei Skyliner as the Narita express arrives in Tokyo Station.

Tokyo Keisei Skyliner

Hop on board the Tokyo Keisei Skyliner for the quickest travel time to downtown Tokyo! With dedicated luggage spaces in each car and reserved seating, you’ll be guaranteed both a seat and ample luggage space!

The best part about taking the train is that you definitely would not be caught in any traffic congestions! There is also free WiFi aboard all the skyliner trains so don’t forget to ask for the password at the Keisei counter before you board.

Klook your Tokyo Skyliner tickets and receive them instantly. To redeem your tickets, you have to firstly show your Klook voucher to the redemption counter where you will receive a coupon and following that use that coupon to exchange for a bus train ticket at the skyliner counter at Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station and Narita Airport Terminal 2 Station.

3. By car

When you are travelling with children or elderly, or even with lots of luggage, public transport options may cost a little less but they also could be pretty troublesome. If you’re looking for a hassle-free route straight from Narita Airport to Tokyo, here are your options:

Taxis are one of the comfortable ways to get around in Tokyo without having to squeeze into trains or even worse transfer between the different transport lines. But, there is of course a price to pay for such comfort. While not exactly costing an arm and a leg, there is still a hefty fee to pay.

A taxi ride from Haneda Airport into central Tokyo usually costs between US$44-98 (5,000 to 11,000 yen) depending on the destination and time of the day while a ride from Narita Airport could set you back US$141-194 (16000 to 22000 yen). Do note that there are extra surcharges for traveling by taxi between 10pm to 5am.

Plus, if you are travelling in a big group or have plenty of luggage, you’ll have to get 2 vehicles instead of one, which would definitely double up that cost.
