Take a break from the busy city and head out for a refreshing trip to Otago Peninsula and see the flourishing aquatic wildlife at Natures Wonders. You have the option to explore the area for an hour on board a coach or a rugged all-terrain vehicle. A friendly local guide will join you and share a wealth of knowledge about the natural and social history of the Otago Peninsula. The first stop of the tour is the mythical "Maori's Footprint" location where you can take photos of the breathtaking landscape. You will then descend from 189 meters above sea level and, during the nesting season, stop at a breeding colony of cormorants nestled on a rugged cliff face. Next stop is an area where you'll get to have a very close encounter with a breeding colony of New Zealand fur seals and their pups basking on the rocks and swimming in natural pools. From there, you'll head to the Penguin Beach to discreetly spot little blue penguins and shy yellow-eyed penguin in their nests or on the beach. The tour concludes upon your return up to the highest point of the farm to capture more photos of the stunning panoramic views.
