What to expect
A traditional tuk tuk ride is just what you need to make your tour of Jaipur all the more authentic. Your tour begins when you meet your guide at Jawahar Circle's Patrika Gate, a famous historical location. Considered the ninth gate of Jaipur, it was built on the principles of Vaastu Shastra. Here, you'll get on a tuk tuk and head across the city to explore its famous sights. First is Jawahar Circle itself, with its beautiful gardens and musical fountains. Then you see the Birla Mandir Temple, otherwise known as the Laxminarayan Temple, one of the most famous in the city. You'll also see the Moti Doongri Ganesh Mandir, a famous Hindu temple, and situated atop a hill. It's full of colors and decorations, and features an image of Ganesha with an elephant head. Afterwards, you'll see the Statue Circle, which commemorates the founder of Jaipur, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Then you'll see the Tripolia Gate, a beautifully structured gate created in the 18th century, with its spectacular terrace that's open to tourists. On your tuk tuk, you'll cross the famous MI Road to Lassiwala, where generations of Jaipur's people come to get some of the best lassi in the city. Then you head to Raj Mandir Cinema, a brightly lit and uniquely designed movie theatre, before heading to the New Gate in Jaipur, which, while not a part of the original 7 gates, has its own story. Book lovers will love the next stop when you visit Chaura Rasta, which is a famous shopping district completely crammed with books of all kinds, used and new. Finally, you'll visit the famous Hawa Mahal and marvel at its gorgeously ornate architecture, and the Jal Mahal, so you can capture its beautiful form rising out of the water of a great lake. Your tour ends at the Jal Mahal.
