Get lost in the untouched nature of Mukumugi, a secret paradise of blue waters, ancient culture and the great outdoors
Regarded by many as a hidden paradise that even surpasses nearby Taroko Gorge, Mukumugi is a beautiful slice of Taiwanese nature and culture. Permits are strictly limited each day in order to preserve the natural peace and beauty of the area so you won't find any large tour groups stopping off here. The area is named after the first Taroko tribal family who settled here around 300 years ago. Get closer to nature with a guided walk of the area, then, after around a 45 minute hike you'll be free to explore. Step into the clear crystal waters, marvel at the fascinating rock formations or stroll into the wildnerness. Best of all, you'll feel as if you have the whole place to yourself.
