The best experience ever like legit. It's my first time with pottery so I don't know anything but the staffs there are so kind and nice, and patient despite my N mistakes. But overall I loved it and wish I can make more pottery there. I signed up for the 55 mins so at the end of my sessions I still had time left so the staffs allowed me to PLAY with the clay pottery, that was my fav lol I got so giddy like a kid plus there was no one there so it's not crowded and packed
We reserved a 30-min slot and arrived a bit early, but they took us in right away. They have baskets for bags and remind you to remove jewelry. There were 3 of us, and the sensei let us choose to make a cup or bowl. I made a cup, the others made bowls, and it was all our first time. The sensei was patient, gave helpful feedback, and even taught me a trick for using my knuckles since my long nails made shaping tricky. There’s an extra charge for a black rim and shipping—our total was about $80 for 3 people (shipping to US + black rim). Totally worth it as a Kyoto keepsake; I’ll drink matcha from my cup and always remember the kindness of the Japanese people from the trip. Highly recommend for beginners! Everyone was super nice and grateful for our participation.
Brilliant pottery class eith a patient and experienced teacher. During the class you are taught the different techniques to make different types of pottery. I made one ramen bowl and a beer glass. However, there are other selections. The teacher and staff were really helpful and guided you along the way. I paid for the hour session but only stayed for enough time to make both cup and bowl. You don't really need more time if you're in a hurry. You can send it abroad with an extra fee after choosing the colour paint for your products. Make sure to bring cash! The fee for sending abroad to Europe for 2 items was ¥5500. I would absolutely do this again. Also, you don't have to buy through Klook and can just walk in.
This was a fun experience especially if you’ve never done pottery before. The instructor was very friendly and knowledgeable. he explained things very well in English. We were given color choices and options on what to make. although the class is quick it was very good. They will color and fire your piece and you pay to have it shipped home in about 6-8 weeks. Overall I liked that we were able to make something unique while we were in Kyoto as a reminder of our time there.
Awesome experience! the instructors were very knowledgeable and patient with you while learning how to mold your piece! We had a very pleasant experience and cannot wait to see what the final product will look like!
It was a unique experience, the 6 of us were able to make our personal choice of shapes / designs. There was enough time to learn and practice, and enough time for play 😝. We opted for our masterpieces to be shipped (they told us it would take to about 2 months for us to receive them), hopefully we get to use them soon.
This was such a unique experience, we had our own instructor who helped us achieve exactly what we were after. We made 6 pieces in the end, 4 bowls, 2 cups and we got 5 shipped (this is an additional cost about $100 to Australia) which takes about 2 months to come. After you finish your pieces they will get you to pick a colour and they paint it and ship it, can’t wait to see our final pieces!
Great location. Amazing staff. everyone was so helpful and patient. our Ohana enjoyed making our matcha bowls!! Can’t wait for another visit.
very good experience and lots of local people do the class. teacher are professional and make it prefect pottery at the end.
Fantastic experience with an incredible view of Yasaka Pagoda! The staff was very friendly and helpful which contributed even more to our experience
