With your English or Chinese speaking guide, you'll first head to Churchgate station to see the dabbawalas and their carts. The dabbawalas of Mumbai have captured the interest of the world, having been photographed in action. This veritable army of men in almost uniform traditional garb deliver homecooked, traditional food every day to over 200,000 individuals all over the city. What started out with one customer had swelled immensely over the years, to the point that they needed an alphanumeric color coding system to be able to indicate which food containers go where. Your guide will take you to see segregating boxes and transfer them into the trolleys. You'll hop onto a train that takes you to Mahalaxmi Station where you'll be able to watch the dabbawalas in action.
