Reviews
it is a great one day itinerary if you are short on time and want to complete a lot of things in one day like myself. The Tour guide shared the in-depth knowledge about the past of South Korea, which contributed a lot in my knowledge. It is always good to know about the history of some place to understand better about its present and relate to it. Glad I made it on the Tour. The ride was very comfortable. The martial art and the folk dance was amazing. I wish to go back and visit Suwon at my own pace someday in future.
Tour guide is friendly and explains things well. As the coverage of each attractions is good and a lot, it may leave a slightly shorter time for the tourists to experience each site and have to leave for the next site. Overall it is a good experience for first timer in terms of traditional korean culture and history. Thanks Jeff for taking good care of us during this trip!
The tour was great, thou i wish we had more time at Suwon Starfields Library, so that we can look around the stores, when we reach the place, i went straight to the Library part to take some pictures, and had lunch after and i didnt finish my sandwich , always in a hurry to go back to given time. Our Tour guide Richard was ok and a patient person, when we went to the w. temple, due to many spots to talk pictures i was late in going back to the bus ( still lacking of time to go around ). Thou it was quite tiring going up and down the stairs of the hwaseong fortress, it was satisfying to look at new places in Korea. Till next time will look for other places to go to with Klook
thanks for your support yesterday, Mr Richard and the driver were very kind and helpful towards my phobia for height which for unforeseen reasons that wasn’t communicated at the beginning of the tour.
The tour was a great day out to Suwon and surroundings. Philip was our guide and he was super informative with historical details and has a great sense of humour. He spoke perfect English and made me laugh with his humour. Thank you Philip!
this was a great easy to enjoy tour with a fantastic guide. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend the archery as part of the tour as it was 10 arrows for 3000 won. when going to Suwon Coex mall I recommend doing some research ahead of time on what is there. if you know what you are doing you have time to get things done and have lunch. if you just wonder you might spot things to late. on the top floor there was an activity/games centre of some kind, might be worth a look when you are there or if you go back.
for our trip our tour guide was phillip, he was very informative, funny, and helpful! truly the best! we started at Hwaseong Fortress where he knew so much info about the history of the fortress as well as meanings for all the decor and design. then we went to haenggung and discovered more korean history of King Jeongjo. we also visited starfield in suwon where we shopped and visited the famous library, the entire time phillip was educating us about every area. at starfield we even got to try a local korean restaurant with his recommendation the meat and kimchi jigae was so delicious!! lastly we got to learn more about historic housing and daily life at the korean folk village ending with live performances of traditional music. overall it was an amazing experience, very worth the price 🙂↕️😊💗👍
Our guide Philip told interesting stories about the Hwaseong Fortress and all the places we visited. I especially enjoyed the Hwaseong Palace with its weaponary show and Waujeongsa Temple, as it has a completely different style and vibe from the many other temples I‘ve visited so far. We were also free to grab lunch on our own at the Starfield Library or follow Philip to a traditional restaurant he recommended. ^^
We had a fantastic day out exploring Suwon with our tour guide Peter Pan. His storytelling style is unique and engaging. He encouraged us to take naps on the bus when the distance was long so we were rested for the walkabouts. he recommended k-dramas based on Joseon history as they are accurate due to the detailed records kept by the historians of the time. The fortress is beautiful, the palace is beautiful, Starfield library is amazing, and the folk village was great. We got involved and I pretended to be thrown in jail so we could see how they were punished. The performance at the folk village is a beautiful spectacle and I took lots of pictures. They love their performance and it shows. We will definitely return to Suwon when we return to Korea so that we can take more time to absorb everything.
If you are traveling solo and looking for a tour that will keep you moving without feeling rushed, this is the tour for you. The handsome Peter Pan was an incredible guide. Not only did he initiate taking group photos, but he also shared so many interesting “fun facts” about Korea and then drew us all in with the emotional story behind the fortress and the temporary palace. He did a phenomenal job connecting the past to present day Korea. While at the cave (silver mine), he also shared about the struggle of the Korean people during the Japanese invasions. Specifically, he told us the story behind the “Hell Mouth” of the cave. I cannot recommend this tour or this guide enough. It was perfectly paced, and I was very please with my experience.
