Osaka Go Karting Experience by Akiba Kart

Absolutely great experience! I chose the 1.5‑hour night tour, and I’d definitely recommend going for the later time if you’re visiting in summer. I actually ended up with a personal tour, which made the whole drive even better. Seeing Osaka Castle lit up at night, along with the tower, was a highlight. Make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes early, since there’s a short safety video you need to watch before driving. You can also rent a GoPro (extra cost) if you want to capture your driving experience — totally worth it if you want to relive the ride later. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to drive like Mario in Mario Cart 😁 Will definitely be doing this again. 5⭐️ to the crew.

For those thinking of doing this, stop stalling, and purchase now, this is insane. Osaka was amazing by night, and it suited us, we chose the 90min 8pm session and it was unreal. Be sure to have your international driver's permit before travelling, for us, it was though the RACV in Victoria 🇦🇺. Have your passport (physically with you) aswell, without both, you will not be able to participate. The karts themselves are 50cc 2 bangers, and hook along at around 60-65kph, definitely not a toy. Normal road rules apply, you must use the indicators, stay within the lane, and stop at red lights as you would driving a registered vehicle. My son(21yo) and myself had an absolute blast, yep, dressed in costume, and we had 2 teams of 6 karts, which was fun. It was a pretty quiet journey out to Osaka Castle, before heading back through town where the street lights, onlookers and atmosphere really kicked in. 5 stars for the team at Akiba Kart, our Japan highlight for sure, must do 🙌🏻

This street kart tour was easily one of my favorite activities during our two-week trip to Japan! We arrived 20 minutes early as requested, which gave us plenty of time to sign waivers, pick out costumes, and take a few photos. Before heading out, they played a clear safety video on how to operate the karts, which made us feel completely prepared. Our guide, Yuma, was outstanding! He led us to the castle and several other cool spots, pointing out major sights along the way. Reaching speeds up to 50 km/h was an absolute blast. Yuma also snapped great photos at our stops and AirDropped them to us at the end. Tips: Make sure to get your International Driving Permit (from AAA if you're coming from the U.S.) before departing, as it's strictly required! Bring glasses or sunglasses for eye protection.

Great people, great ride. Lots of fun!!! Sotaro is the man!!! Kept everyone safe, took pics, hooked up GoPros for those who wanted it, and pointed out landmarks. Definitely would do it again for longer. The evening run is spectacular with the lights, crowds, and cars. November is nice, not cold or hot. Perfect weather.

To everyone reading this review right now: I want to tell you that this is an absolute must-do experience if you're visiting Osaka. It's truly fun and exhilarating. There are very few experiences in life that are this enjoyable. The guide gives a brief explanation and then leads the way in the first kart, and all we have to do is follow. They adjust the speed, so you don't have to worry about not being able to keep up!!! Once you set off, you'll experience the kart's surprisingly fast speed, the thrill that comes with it, and the wind rushing past. It's truly exhilarating, and if you're with friends, the fun is doubled!! The guide takes you to major attractions, and if you stop at a traffic light, they quickly get out and take photos for you. (Tsutenkaku Tower, Abeno Harukas, Denden Town, etc.) It was an experience that made me think, "Wow, was there a road like this in Osaka? It's beautiful..." as we drove around. They took photos for us, adjusted the speed, and led the way at an appropriate pace – it was perfect. It was truly the best. If you're debating between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes, definitely go for 1 hour 30 minutes. I thought 1 hour would be enough, but by the time it was ending, I felt like, "Ah, I wish I could ride a little longer!" Hahaha. Don't forget to bring your international driver's license, and I recommend arriving 30 minutes early so you can choose your costume and listen to the explanation. I honestly felt so grateful and happy to have had an experience like this before I die. Coming to Osaka with friends, riding karts, cruising through the city's streets, taking photos, and driving... Just imagining it makes me happy, but doing it in person was truly the best.

THE BEST! You have to do this if you're in Japan. They have one in Tokyo too but it's more pricier. we had so much fun. they took great pic of you and your partner but I didn't share here. just some pic i manage to capture when we stopped. so so so sooo worth it.

Go karting has been the absolute highlight of my Japan trips. I did the Tokyo one last year with the same company and loved it, but I enjoyed the Osaka experience even more. It felt more relaxed, and we had plenty of time to stop for photos. Our guide was amazing—he brought us to great spots and took really good pictures for us. I honestly can’t express how much I love go karting here. It’s such a fun, unique experience and easily the best part of my trip!
