This half-day tour introduces you to two of the most interesting attractions in Laos’s capital — the beautiful city of Vientiane. Your trip will start with an early morning pick up from your hotel and a scenic drive to Xieng Khuan Buddha Park. Built in 1958 by a monk who studied both Buddhism and Hinduism, the park displays architectural tradition of both beliefs. Here, you can see the statue of a Hindu deity riding a three-headed elephant, a god with 12 faces and many hands and so much more. All the statues have been crafted with intricate detail and are impressive both because of their exotic motifs and substantial size. The next stop on the tour is Carol Cassidy’s Lao Textiles workshop founded in 1990. Here, you can learn about the humble beginnings of the world-acclaimed textile designer Carol Cassidy and discover ancient techniques for creating woven art.
