Tokyo: Grand Sumo January Tournament

This tour comes in several options depending on the combination of the following:

• Landmark/history tour 13:00 - 15:00 This is a walking tour around Ryogoku, a sumo town, to increase the joy of watching the tournament by learning a lot about sumo from your knowledgeable guide beforehand.
• Viewing bouts in the arena 15:00 - 18:00 Enjoy the bouts as you listen to the real-time commentaries from your expert guide, and get excited as you join the excited spectators!
• Chanko dinner option This nutrient dish is the centerpiece of sumo wrestlers’ diets to gain weight and muscles to build their bodies.
• Chair option We will use chair seats on the balcony in the arena; if you opt to stay on the first floor, you would need to sit on a flat floor.
  Chair option means you can sit comfortably in a chair throughout the tournament, unlike box seats on the first floor where you will be seated on cusions placed on the floor. For this tour, you will be seated in chair B or C; the seating map in the photo section shows the detailed location. Chair B seats have a couple of advantages over chair C seats: they are closer to the ring, larger, and softer.
