What To Expect

Explore the historical parts of Hanoi by foot and by cyclo. Start the tour by hopping aboard a cyclo, a traditional rickshaw, and begin the afternoon traveling through the bustling old quarter, along streets lined with French colonial houses. Once you've reached the Northern Gate of the ancient citadel discover the beautiful Cua Bac Church - a notable example of Catholic influence in the city. You'll then move onto Quan Thanh Temple one of the oldest Taoist temples before heading towards West Lake, hearing the story of John McCain as a Vietnamese Prisoner of War as you stroll. Make a pitstop at Pho Cuon Restaurant for a bite to eat before heading to Chau Long market to get a feel for local life including a walk through a famous dessert street and a wedding cake street (you'll even get to sample a few!) Shake off the sugar rush at Hang Ga Street, the mat weaving borough, then end the tour with a famous Vietnamese coffee at one the many streetside cafes.

Tailored to what I want. I wished there was more people on the foot tour with me, cause I was the only person!

5 stars for this tour. Guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable about Vietnam. No communication problems. Was able to answer all my questions, and I had lots of them. Lots of walking, after rickshaw ride, but not an issue with me. I was fortunate in that the other guests cancelled, so it became my own private tour. Highly recommend.

Leisurely walk around some nice parts of the city, a bit slow, very friendly guide, well organized. Highly recommended. If some more introduction about the city such as its history will be even better.

This tour was the first one for our Hanoi trip and it was a nice start. Our tour guide, Thiep, was friendly. We also enjoyed the food and the tea that was served at the restaurant we went in. We love long walks so we enjoyed the tour. Might not be okay for those who doesn’t like walking around too much.

We were a little lost on the way to the meeting place (people seemed to not know the hotel and we were brought to different places) but once we found the meeting place, the tour went smoothly and the tour guide really helped us a lot!

The tour guide Van was enthusiastic in her job and she explained the history of the places we visited. She was concerned with the slow walkers and took the effort to walk behind to explain to them. However, as a result, some of us were neglected and she did apologised that she couldn’t always explain everything to the whole group as we were quite a big group. One point is that she didn’t stop at a few places (eg. the church) for us to take pictures.

It was a fun tour. Great experience. We loved Hanoi in this January weather.

Good and informative tour. With the guide we had, the speed was a bit too fast to enjoy the sights more.Too bad we did not get a chance to walk into the citadel. Would have loved to spend more time walking through the old streets.
