What To Expect

A truly wholesome, immersive experience with Thailand's famous gentle giants is only possible on an ethical elephant experience with great consideration for the welfare of the animal. This is why a half day trip to the famous Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Pattaya has become so popular: visitors will be able to interact and join the elephants in their natural habitat and learn about the life of these rescued giants. After a briefing on the work and background of the sanctuary as well as some snacks, visitors will be able to don the traditional clothing of the Karen tribe. They will help the sanctuary's keepers to prepare natural dietary supplements for the elephants in their care. Then they will be properly introduced to the sanctuary's rescue elephants, and even feed them the prepared supplements. While playing and interacting with the elephants, taking photos and making sure they are well fed, or even just observing them, visitors will be able to learn about the elephants' past. They'll be taught about elephant behavior patterns and characteristics, and bond better with them when they learn how a truly ethical experience with elephants is achieved. Visitors will also get the chance to have some good clean fun by taking a big mud spa with the elephants, and help them wash off afterwards in the elephant shower room! Then you'll get your own shower and enjoy a delicious Thai meal as a reward for all the hard work, with vegetarian options available. You'll be dropped off back to your hotel a true sense of accomplishment, knowing that you've aided the sanctuary and its elephants, and learnt how to best help these beautiful creatures in the future.

A wonderful visit! Very kind staff and wonderful to see elephants being treated so well.. There was a little disorganization confirming our pickup time and it was difficult to reach someone , but it all worked out great. A halfday visit was the perfect amount of time. great for all kinds of travelers. very fun and educational.. would definitely recommend

Really enjoyable experience feeding and helping bathe the elephants. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. It was very interesting learning how they made paper and then getting to make a piece ourselves. Overall, a great time!

Hanging out with the elephants was truly an amazing experience! Getting to the sanctuary was a bit of an ordeal so leave yourself plenty of time. Washing the elephants in the mud hole was a bit disturbing as it was mostly standing water so probably not the best environment to be in from a health stand point. It was nice to see that the elphants who did not want to participate, where not forced to do so. Overall, it was a pleasant day!

One organic experience. The people taking care of Elephants are very accommodating and genuine. They approach us nicely and welcoming and even gave as souvenirs to remember our day with Elephants. Never miss this in your bucket list.

I must say that was one of the best experience of my life. The people were very kind and the guide speaks quite well English and knows everything about the elephants. They took a lot of pictures of us and put it on Facebook. The other workers didn't speak English but they were very nice and helpful, one of them was quite funny and make us laugh a lot. Really you have to go there. The only thing that bother was the plastic bottle and dishes in the water and on the ground. I told the guide and it seems to have told the workers to pick them up, I don't because I don't speak their language.

A best example of ecotourism. A tour that makes you learn more how to travel responsibly in conserving the environment, respecting the lives of the animals and helping the well beings of the local people. Hope everyone will support this kind of tour because it is good for the environment, the people and our future. Here, they just let the elephants be elephants and not like other animals that were kept in zoos. My mom, dad and baby sister had a great time feeding them and taking care of them. It is good for all ages to enjoy. This tour is definitely a must try in your bucketlist.
