Kyo Kaiseki KINMATA (近又) in Kyoto

Booked a private room experience. It was very ritualistic with 10 courses. The chef came out to introduce each dish and was very polite!

This is completely fraudulent. I bought the classic package, but when I arrived at the restaurant, they served us the lightweight version instead. There was a 5,000 yen difference per person compared to the reservation on Google, making a 10,000 yen difference for two people. The overall meal portion was extremely small—only five items in total, which was pathetically little. We left completely unsatisfied, basically as if we hadn't eaten at all. After trying to negotiate with the restaurant, they told us to contact Klook. We added them on WeChat, but they never responded. So, everyone, do not buy this; it's a scam! The overall experience was extremely terrible. 🤦 I am reporting and filing a complaint! You make me spend this much money just to eat this tiny amount of food? What a rip-off!

The service is first-class. From the moment you enter the door, four waiters take turns to serve the dishes. The environment is similar to a teahouse, quiet in a busy place, and the set meal is also large.

This is a very good dining experience for Japanese fine dining. The host pay attention down to the fine detail. we were attended to from the moment we stepped in until we stepped out. From the start we were given green tea that was prepared before us to the appetisers, soup, main and dessert. Each dishes was explained to us and how to best savour it.

The classic Kyoto gourmet flavor, excellent ingredients and service are worth a review!
