The price only includes transportation, it's pretty much self guided. I was the only English speaking person on the tour but the guide went out his way to ensure I understood. He was very kind and accommodating. Overall a very scenic tour, beautiful natural sights, gorgeous coastlines and the pagoda fits so well with the scenery. The waterfall is breathtakingly beautiful.
A bit of a hike but with awesome rewards. In the 3h i even managed to go up the pilgrimage route behind the temple where it was quiet and just magical - probably one of my favorites so definitely recommend!
The male guide explained the tour details in three languages: Japanese, English, and Mandarin. Upon arriving at the Osaka Gate parking lot, the guide also reminded us to be careful when walking, as the mountain path was rugged.
scenery: probably one of the best places in Japan. The place looks surreal and amazing. Will definitely book again. itinerary: Perfect itinerary. guide: Very accomodating. difficulty of the hike: Difficult at first but will get better. The pathway going up is wonderful.
Due to inconvenient transportation, I joined a one-day tour. The one-way journey took four hours, so I bought a simple lunch at the station beforehand. We arrived at noon, and the main focus was hiking the Kumano Kodo. We passed by temples, and the path was all uphill stone steps. We could only walk a short distance; completing the entire one-way trail would take three hours. Both sides of the path were lined with large trees, making for a very pleasant walk. Next time, I'd like to come by myself and complete the entire ancient trail. Our tour guide was fluent in Chinese, English, and Japanese, and all the group members were very punctual.
Had a small tour group, so it felt very intimate! Kumado Kodo is very far, but worth the visit if you are short on time/don't have a drivers license, and want to go easily! I had time to visit all the places I wanted, and even had time to have a meal at the restaurant there!
Magnificent tour on the Kumano Kodo trails, including a visit to a beautiful shrine and marveling at the majestic Nachi Falls. Kyo, our driver, was really friendly and professional. It was perfect, despite the rather long distance to travel. Thank you to Kyo for everything.
1. The one-way drive is almost four hours, so if you only choose the spots above, staying for about three hours is enough time to also have lunch. 2. We recommend wearing hiking shoes and clothes. It might drizzle, so consider wearing a hooded jacket. 3. We'll stop at a rest area on the way there and back. 4. Be careful of slippery ground. The waterfall and shrine are beautiful and worth visiting. 5. There are many amulets to choose from. Please bring plenty of cash as you'll need to buy tickets to enter some areas.
very good value for money but don't expect a guided tour. It is essentially transport to the location and a map is provided to do the walk and attractions by yourself. This option may not suit everyone but for me it was perfect. It gave me flexibility to do things at my own pace and spent more time on attractions of that I preferred.
The journey is very long but definitely worth it. The route indicated by the guide is easy to follow and he is very clear when explaining things and very kind. I recommend doing it with them
