Daisy Annie 27 Jan 2019This was a very long day but my friends and I really enjoyed it! The bus ride didn’t feel that long since we would stop off for a break every hour. The lunch was delicious and our tour guide was very helpful and friendly. The monkeys weren’t in the Onsens but they were very active and the snow was beautiful. I would definitely recommend going on this tour.

Get a chance to see one of Japan's most photogenic animals, the Japanese macaque, with this winter-exclusive, one day tour of the Jigokutani Onsen. Commonly called "snow monkeys," these fascinating creatures spend most of their days either playing in the powdery snow in the area or soaking themselves in the hot springs, their red faces sticking out from the white snow. Begin the tour by meeting up with your tour group at Shinjuku Station's West Exit, then take the bus to Nagano Prefecture, near the Japanese Alps. Hop off the bus and enjoy a delicious sukiyaki lunch that's sure to warm you up and energize you for the forty-minute walk to the onsen, filled with sights of the stunning mountains. Once you're at the onsen, you're free to spend time watching the monkeys relax and take photographs, but remember not to feed them as they might get too excited!

I just wish we were pre-empt of icy road walking to the park.. slipped and fell twice in my visit.. ended up buying the grip attachment for shoes (1st pic) from one of the small storesat the foot of the park to save myself from falling more times! -

caroline 19 Mar 2018Yesterday morning I took a tour bus with HIS to go see the Snow Monkeys in Yamanochi, Shimotakai-Gun-Hirao. The staff members (Tour guide and bus drivers /lunch members ) were amazing, friendly, and drove us there smoothly. We had a traditional Japanese lunch which was very good(Beef Sukiyaki/ Vegetarian options as well ). Finally, The Snow Monkeys, we were dropped off out side of the park and walked for about 50 minutes ( not able to drive up there ) finally arriving we see the hot springs and the monkeys !!! They’re super cute and they get pretty close which is great for pictures. One of the best decisions I’ve made so far coming to Japan. I recommend you go see the snow monkeys and take the tour bus, but if you plan on going, go when it’s colder, you’ll get a better chance on seeing them. -

Hang Mei Anthea 8 Feb 2018It’s a very nice tour with good arrangement on transportation and lunch, sweet guide and driver. But the destinations are really far away from shinjuku and the visiting time is really less comparatively. It’s really rush. -

Lyra Jessica 6 Feb 2018Worth it! Travelling by bus is not as bad as it seems there are stop overs almost every hour and we really enjoyed this hassle free trip. Everything went smoothly and according to schedule. We even got home a little early than expected. There were a lot of monkeys roaming around but we didn't see them bathing in the hot spring. The view on the trip was really worth it.
