For what you pay this is a good tour, although some Canadians claimed they paid $25 each booking direct at the TNK office. Picked up at 7:50am from hotel and dropped off in town and told to walk a block and wait for bus 19944.? Ten minutes later a girl came and said we need to move back to drop off point to get bus. A bit annoying trying to move around with luggage. Rich was our guide and said everything in Vietnam first then English. The Bus had USB ports but they didn’t work and no wifi. 1st stop was a Honey place. Shown bees (I am highly allergic and was packing it but luckily no stings). We had about 50mls of honey tea, given something to read about royal jelly and watched some local talent playing music. Tip containers put on table. Next was walk to small boats (4 people to a boat) for paddle down the river. This was nice and peaceful. We were told to tip the rowers as they are poor. For last few minutes of rowing, rower was saying “don’t forget to tip, get your tips ready”. Lunch was nice, we had an upgraded lunch with this voucher. Next the coconut candy making, which was yummy (only coconut and malt), you can buy for 30k dong a packet. Back in the bus to the Vinh Trang Pagoda, which had beautiful Buddha’s. Then a three hour drive to Can Tho. This then got confusing as people were staying at all different hotels (there were 2 2star hotels?). We were told by guide to meet at his hotel at 6:50am and he will pay for the Taxi. There were about 10 of us at our hotel, which was very basic (no safe or working door lock). Passports were taken and left in packets on the front desk (not happy with this). We were close to the river and night markets. Next day we saw other people from our tour come into breakfast late and did not turn up to other hotel until 7:15sm. We did the markets by a boat that fitted all of us but there were only tourist boats around. We were encouraged to buy fruit from vendor boats that come and hooked up to the boat. We then went to the rice noodle factory, which was interesting. Back on the boat to a local village, where you could rent a bike for 50k dong (Captain Canada piped up that was 5 times what usual bike hire costs and we were being ripped off). The bikes were a little shabby and the paths bumpy, muddy and at times narrow, with motorbikes passing. After 15 minutes we stopped at a guerilla warfare site, which had a 4000 year old focus tree for ten minutes, then rode back. The village cooked snake, rats and snails for anyone that wanted to buy. Back on the boat to Can Tho for lunch (ours was included, others had to pay). We left the tour after lunch for an extra day in Can Tho. This deal is good value but is a big tour with lots of different personalities, Rich did a good job trying to get everyone to follow the program but some people don’t listen. Maybe consider booking your own hotel after checking out their hotel...many 3 and 4 stars for around 500k dong.

What To Expect

Explore the natural wonder that is the Mekong Delta in this 2-day tour of Ho Chi Minh City and nearby towns. Day 1 starts out with a 90-minute ride to the town of My Tho where you’ll get to see the Vinh Trang Pagoda, one of the best-known temples in the region. The pagoda’s architecture reflects the combination of local Vietnamese culture with Khmer and European influences. You will then take a short boat ride along the Tien River to nearby Tortorise Island where lunch will be served at a local restaurant. With a full belly, you’ll be on your way to Can Tho where you will be spending the night. Day 2 begins early with breakfast at the hotel before the morning boat trip to Cai Rang floating market, one of the biggest floating markets in Southern Vietnam. Next stop is a village that is best known its rice vermicelli noodles. After observing how the locals make the rice noodles, you can explore the village some more before having lunch. You’ll head back to Ho Chi Minh City with a full belly and unforgettable memories of your Mekong Delta journey.

I joined the tour with my 10 years old daughter. The tour guide, Conue? was very nice and funny. We really enjoyed the tour so much although it was 4 hours bus ride per day and it’s quite tiring. As others also suggested to Klook, if we could have more choices for hotel, it would be great. In my hotel room, there were very many aunts and my daughter complained a lot to me although we didn’t get any bites. The bed wasn’t too bad and we had a good sleep overall, but the hotel was very old and dirty. If you care, you should book through a different agency. I think all hotels in HCMC can book any tour from HCMC.

Tour was good, and Mr. Ut, the tour guide from TNK travel was great and energetic ☺️ The food and hotel was good, I just have two complaints: 1. The tourists that have a tour for 7:30am end up crowding the area in front of the travel agency, and the buses will come 30 minutes later, so everyone's just standing there... 2. At the fruit plantation village, the activity was to bike for an hour, but the bike rental fee is not included in the tour. It's another 50K dong. It's optional, but if you don't go, you'll stay where the boat is and you can see the small plantation area nearby, but there's really not much to see. We ended up just talking and sleeping for a little more than an hour.

Have a great trip at Mekong Delta. Lunch for both days were great with authentic vietnamese cuisine. Visits to local village, coconut candy factory and rice noodle factory were great. Experiencimg the flood at Can Tho city was great. Tour guide Yang is great. Overall is a great trip!

Excellent and courteous tour guide, clean and comfortable bus, safe driver, food from the two included lunches is abundant and delicious, the hotel is a 2 star hotel at decent conditions, but it is only for one night, it is OK. Overall, good experience!

The tour guide was very friendly and humorous. My only complaint is that we were not given any options when it comes to the accommodation, and there was actually a decent 4-Star hotel option offered by other agencies.

very organized and great experience ! Food included and hotel 2 star included was very good!
  • Hazel Xin Wei 7 Aug 2018
The trip was very well organised despite some waiting time at the start. The lunch included was a good experience to taste local food especially at the tortoise island where we did our own wraps. The hotel was not as good as expected as it was slightly run down. Although the location is convenient to access the can tho market in the evening. Overall the trip is highly recommended for people who want to see the Mekong delta area
