At 1,972 meters above sea level, Erhai Lake is one of the largest highland lakes in all of Yunnan, second only to Dianchi Lake. Known as the Pearl of the Plateau for its beautiful scenery that can be seen all year round, Erhai Lake is a must see attraction for tourists of all ages and backgrounds. Take a leisurely sightseeing trip around the lake by boat and discover the nearby islands where you can explore temples, pavilions and parks. As you cruise along the waters, you'll get to know more about the Bai people that live around the area as you're treated to a short song and dance number that tells about their culture and lifestyle. Spend time at Nanzhao Island where you can make your way around eight man made sights, and stop by Little Putuo Island, the smallest island on the lake where you'll find a two story Buddhist temple dating back to the Ming Dynasty. As the tour ends, you'll be transported back to the wharf for you to enjoy the rest of your day in Dali.
