After a convenient pick up from your hotel in Jincheng Township or Jincheng Station, you'll embark on your day exploring some of Kinmen's most famous sights. Begin at the Koxinga Ancestral Shrine built in memory of the Ming general who fought against the Dutch. Then head to nearby Jiangongyu Islet, where the island becomes accessible only at low tide and home to some beautiful modern and traditional sculptures. Take in local history at Yannan Library and the quaint historic village of Shueitou. End your tour with some military history at the world-famous Zhaishan Tunnel, excavated to conceal naval vessels during wartime in the 1960s and a huge 101 meters long. You'll finish the tour at the impressive Juguang Fort, constructed in 1953 in classical Chinese style, and home to various artifacts that showcase the turbulent history of Kinmen, before being dropped back at your hotel. Throughout the day tour, kids can complete a DIY coloring book based on the legend of Kinmen's Wind God statues dotted about the island.
