Go on a day of discovering history in and around Boston while on an airconditioned bus with a professional, English speaking guide! Then it's off to American history as you head to Battle Road Trail, where the Battles of Lexington and Concord took place during the American Revolution. The next stops will visit the homes of two famous American writers: Louisa May Alcott (author of “Little Women”, “Little Men”) and Ralph Waldo Emerson (American essayist and poet). From there, visit the Old North Bridge, a historic site where the Battle of Concord took place, the first major skirmish in the American Revolution. Your next stop is at Faneuil Hall Marketplace, right by the waterfront and has been a meeting hall since 1743. At beautiful Beacon Hill, famous for its stately homes and cobblestone walks, you'll see the State House and its beautiful dome overlooking the hill. You can admire the architecture of the Boston City Hall after this, before heading to the New England Aquarium by the waterfront, where thousands of marine species can be found. And then you head to the Charleston Naval Shipyard, which has been a US Navy ship building and repair facility since 1901. You'll be brought back to your hotel with a wealth of knowledge about American history around Boston.
