Natural surrounds, clan-based culture, timeworn sanctuaries and a wishing tree: set out for a journey of discovery into rural Hong Kong
Visit one of Hong Kong's three largest indoor Buddha statues, located in the Chuk Lam Sim Yuen Buddhist sanctuary
Indulge in stunning panoramic views from the Tai Mo Shan Lookout, Hong Kong's highest peak
Get to know the village of Shui Tau Shui Mei Tsuen, known as the birthplace of clan-based village culture and the source of evolving rural life in Hong Kong
Soak in the peace and quiet of the countryside at Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree
Explore the city's lesser-known countryside and learn more about rural Hong Kong. Century-old villages, a wishing tree, an ancient monastery and untouched fields are woven into the rolling hills of the New Territories, where – away from the noise of the city – birds sound off a symphony, and the breeze offers the welcoming reprieve of a half-day escapade.
Tour guide is very good and knowledgeable. Worried might miss the tour due to the meeting point at YMCA lobby. Nearly unable to join the tour, but last minute people register, therefore tour proceed. It will be good if can try their local food.
