Visit the highlights of the famous Red Centre with this enjoyable two day tour. The tour starts immediately with a drive to Uluru's base, where you'll discover the heart of the Outback. Once you arrive, continue on to the Kuniya Walk, where your guide will escort you to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. There, you can see ancient rock art, and learn about the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru. Afterwards, visit the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre and get a chance to look at some Aboriginal arts and crafts. Finally, end the first day by watching the sunset at Uluru, while indulging in some sparkling wine. Wake up early the next day to watch the sun rise over the Red Centre, while enjoying a warm cup of coffee or tea. From there, travel to Kata Tjuta to see the majestic rock formations, and then head straight for the base of Walpa Gorge. There, take some time to explore the rock formations, and to explore the walking trail that follows the natural creek bed. Finally, end the tour by passing by Atila (Mt. Conner) - the distinct flat-topped mountain that rises 300 meters above the desert. Afterwards, enjoy a quick tea break at Erldunda Roadhouse (at own expense) before heading back to Alice Springs.
