As the second largest city in Taiwan, Kaohsiung is a bustling place, with an intriguing blend of old and new. This tour showcases exactly that; the old is reflected in the visit to Qijin Island, which houses the Qihou Lighthouse, a white baroque-style Japanese construction, which contrasts with Qihou Fort, a Chinese-style monument. For a taste of contemporary Taiwan, head over to Pier2 Art Center, an old warehouse converted into a creative hub for the city's modern artists. Witness some of the most panaromic views that Kaohsiung has to offer at the British Consulate Residence, as well as from the boat ride down the Love River, arguably the most preferred way to view the city by night. End your Kaoshiung experience at the Gold Diamond Kai-Shuan Night Market, the largest market in the area, famed for its trademark papaya milkshakes and succulent steamed shrimp.

Nice walk with panoramic view of the bay, the city, and the beach. Cihou Fort is near it so you see two places with one walk.
[Qijin Island] is an easy reasonable hike . The view is amazingggg! Bring your camera and video you can see the beach, city, harbor and all the way to the mountain. They have an exhibit at the top! But nothing compares to that view. We went in March it really wasn't too hot. This view is super duper amazingggg enjoy!!!! There are stairs and incline slope.
Climbed up to the lighthouse on a very stormy and rainy day, quite an adventure for me. But once you reached the top, you will find it worth the effort of braving through the storm to get here. There is a small gallery and display of the lighthouse's history and the view is just breathtaking, and brings a sense of peace and calm while enjoying the view. Made friends with the guard dog too. Must visit while in Kaohsiung.
