Iceland's 4th biggest glacier, Sólheimajökull is an ever changing hub of ancient frozen water. An outlet glacier of Mýrdalsjökull, the glacier is a rugged and raw natural masterpiece and a must do for any adventurous hikers out there. Before the adventure starts, you'll first get a quick introduction to equipment and safety procedures. You'll be taught how to use all the tools you'll need like the ice axes, crampons, helmets, and safety lines. And don't worry - you'll also be accompanied the entire time to ensure your safety throughout the entire hike. Right after the introduction, test out your new ice climbing skills and explore the beautiful crevasse riddled glacier. Find yourself in awe of the fantastic natural ice formations, sinkholes and jagged ridges. The climb is approximately 1 hour long, and you'll spend a total of 3 hours on ice so prepare for the cold. After the climb, on your way back to Reykjavik, stop over at the beautiful waterfall, and take in the sights of one of Iceland's most popular landmarks, Skógafoss - the perfect reward for conquering the challenging ice climb.
