Wachau Valley, Danube, and Melk Abbey Guided Tour

Attractions along the way: Meet at the Opera Fountain early in the morning and board a double-decker bus. Our first stop is Dürnstein, a town along the Wachau Valley. Stroll towards the monastery with its blue spire and experience the serene and charming riverside scenery. Afterward, we’ll head to the pier by bus and board a Danube River ferry to Melk Abbey. Enjoy the picturesque scenery along both banks of the river; it's truly breathtaking.

The tour guide looks like an old British gentleman, very elegant, knowledgeable and familiar with historical allusions. The first town is the town of Durenstein. Unfortunately, due to the traffic jam in Vienna, we can only visit for 20 minutes when we arrive. I rush to the Blue Spire Church to take a photo and then get back to the car, so I can't visit the town. Then set off to Spits Pier to take a boat trip on the Danube River, which takes about 90 minutes. The sun is quite hot, so you need to wear sunglasses or a hat, or sit in a lower cabin. We stayed in Melk for almost three hours, but it was not as beautiful as the town of Durenstein. Three hours felt a bit long. You might have to actually visit the monastery to avoid being bored, but there is an additional fee to enter the monastery. The square inside the monastery is free to visit.

A boat trip is so relaxing! You can enjoy coffee and ice cream on the boat while admiring the Danube River—it's truly delightful! Additionally, the monastery is well worth a visit! After the boat trip, you can take photos once you're back on the pier; it's beautiful!

The tour guide Eva is very professional, proficient in multiple languages, and explained the history of Vienna in detail. The scenery of the Wachau Valley, Dürnstein, Melk, etc. is great!

It is very convenient to join this tour and you can enjoy the Danube Valley. Among them, the monastery is very beautiful, with a variety of ancient books inside, which is very spectacular. Dürnstein is a town on the Danube River, and this town has pleasant scenery and beautiful architecture. Board the cruise ship from Spitz and cruise around the Wachau Valley. After the cruise, you will take a tour bus to Melk Abbey. The open valley along the way is very beautiful.

Recommended for the combo. It includes half day tour to Hallstat(enough time) and full day tour to Melk. As written in product description, entry to the Melk is not included! it includes the river cruise. They asked me if I wanted to upgrade for €14 for a tour guide. I opted out not knowing that the entrance ticket is not included. When I reached onsite, I had to pay €19.50 instead to join the guided tour, which I could have gotten for €14. It will be great if I could do the last minute top up at the corporate rate. I wished it could have been communicated more clearly for this. If not, it’s quite a good itinerary.

I felt the timing of the activity was perfect, not too tiring. Before departure, they asked if I wanted to join the monastery tour (14 euros). Since the weather was great, enjoying food on the boat was very pleasant, and the river valley was truly beautiful. The guide spoke English and other languages and was very diligent in their explanations. Overall, I highly recommend it.

I really like this trip arranged by Klook. It goes to Melk Abbey on the outskirts of Vienna, the Wachau Valley and the river cruise that you should see in one trip! Highly recommended, it would be even better if the weather is sunny when you set off!
