What to expect
Vung Tau is a port city in Vietnam’s Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province and is the largest city in the area. Being a coastal metropolis, it’s a popular destination for travelers looking to simply relax. There, you’ll find numerous resorts where you can stay, scenic beaches like Front Beach and Back Beach, and attractions like the Jesus Christ Statue, Thang Tam Temple (Whale Temple), Bach Dinh (a.k.a. Villa Blanche in French or White Palace in English).... You can also embark on short cruises around the area to see places that you can’t reach by foot as well as try your hand at fishing

Our tour guide was very informative and helpful. We didn't expect to be walking 900+ steps to the hands of the Jesus Christ Statue (and another 900+ steps back down) but the view was inside breathtaking. The beach was very warm and calm. Great sights for a day tour in Vung Tau City.
did not realise that the travelling time took 3hours each way. the walk up the Jesus statue took less than 1.5hours. stayed ard 45mins at the beach. wld b better if the guide can explain more abt how the statue was decided to b build there etc.
Heidi was our tour guide, she was awesome and so was the excursion. I didn't climb the 900 steps up into the Christ statue but you can go 100 steps and lounge in the coffee shop. The beach wasn't crowded, locals out with their crab traps, the waters full of colorful personal sized fishboats. Only thing wrong is that I should've been eligible for the free hotel pickup because they dropped me off right next door to my hotel, but when I put in the name and address of my hotel, it wasn't included in the service area for some strange reason!?
I highly recommend our local tour leader, Mr. Lâm. He is very friendly and enthusiastic, and actively introduces each attraction to us in English. He takes care of every member of the group, makes sure everyone is keeping up during pick-ups, drop-offs, and throughout the trip, and is available to help with any questions. I'd like to recommend our tour leader: Mr. Lâm. He is awesome! Friendly, caring, and hardworking. My family had a pleasant trip. Thanks a lot!!!
This is one of the best experiences we had during our visit in Saigon! Our tour guide was Thomson and his great personality and patience was really commendable! The driver was also good, not in a rush with his driving, just right. We are also blessed to have such good tour buddies within the group. The bus, food, and overall itinerary were well-organized.
this was a surprisingly great tour! our tour guide, Bao, was very nice and knowleadgeable. the tour itself is amazing. starting with a trek in the mountain, then temples, plentyful lunch, and refreshing swim at the beach. this is highly recommended
it was great guide Simon was awesome very knowledgeable & helpful just be mindful that there's quite a few stairs to walk up & even with my dodgy knees l did it all except Jesus Christ which there is about 1000 steps to the top but across the road there's refreshments available over looking the water lunch was amazing great tour
The tour operator contacted me via WhatsApp the day before, and the guide, Huệ Lâm, arrived at my hotel on time. I joined a Chinese-language group tour and we traveled by a comfortable tour bus. After departing from Ho Chi Minh City, it was a two-hour drive to the Jesus Christ Statue. Remember not to wear shorts if you want to enter the Jesus Christ Statue. Then, we went to Thắng Tam Temple (Whale Temple) in Vũng Tàu, followed by Gành Hào 2 Seafood Restaurant. Everyone at my table thought the food was delicious. After lunch, we spent an hour (1 PM to 2 PM) relaxing and sunbathing on the beach. Finally, we visited the Bạch Dinh (Villa Blanche). The return trip to Ho Chi Minh City took 2.5 hours due to traffic. The guide shared a lot of information about the attractions. Overall, it was a very chill and relaxing tour.
I applied for and went on a 1-day Vung Tau tour on the 2nd day of my 9-night, 10-day trip to Ho Chi Minh City. I participated in the tour with a total of 5 people, along with Jack, an English-speaking guide. Although he was an English guide, even I, with my limited English, could understand him for the most part, and the guide was friendly. The highlight of the Vung Tau trip is the giant Jesus statue tour, which is definitely worth seeing. They also give you some time to swim at Vung Tau beach, so it would be convenient to wear your swimsuit in advance (although it might be difficult for women to change). Lunch was good, and the limousine was comfortable.
The weather was scorching heat but our tour guide Thang made it memorable and bearable. The beach was also wonderful and the Jesus Christ Statue is one for the books especially we were bringing along our son. The free lunch was also sumptuous. I love Vietnamese dishes. The driver is also swift. 10/10
