Laos is famous for being “The Land of a Million Elephants”. Be prepared to witness the art of handling an elephant by the Mahouts – professional elephant trainers. You'll get to see the Mahouts at work and experience what it means to take care of these gentle giants. You'll also have the chance to feed, wash and ride the elephants amid the beautiful landscape of the elephant camp right on the river banks of Mekong, across the Pak Ou Caves. Those up for the challenge can join the Mahouts as they bathe the elephants, and learning all about how to protect and maintain the elephants with traditional Lao skills will definitely be one of the highlights of your stay. After a picnic lunch and a short rest, travel to the Kuang Si Waterfalls, one of the most attractive destinations in Laos. If the weather permits, you can even take a quick swim to relax before heading back to your hotel in Luang Prabang.
