Rickshaw Experience in Yufuin

Big thanks to Ryoji Suzuki-san! I enjoyed my rickshaw ride. He was so patient in taking my pictures at the sites I wanted to capture. He is truly an IG tour guide and knows the best angles for photos. Arigatougozaimasu, Suzuki-san! :)

I booked the rickshaw experience because I wanted to create a wonderful memory for my grandmother and the child. They said it was the best part of their Yufu trip, second only to the ryokan. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation time, and they even guided us to a nearby free parking spot. I'm grateful to Mr. Yamaguchi for his kindness and consideration, which made our experience pleasant until we parted ways.

My mother-in-law, my wife, and four sons experienced it. Although it was a bit expensive, we were very satisfied, and when we requested a drop-off at our hotel, it was possible for an additional fee of 1,000 yen. My wife insisted on tipping, so it was the only experience in Japan where I tipped. My mother-in-law, who was visiting for the first time, became a Yufuin doctor in 30 minutes. She said she liked the explanation very kindly and well, so I will ride it next time.

I don't often leave reviews, but I'm really satisfied so I'm writing this review. We arrived about an hour earlier than our reservation time and inquired at the rickshaw office, and they changed our reservation time. I can't remember the name of the person in charge of the rickshaw, but he was really friendly and took a lot of pictures with a pretty background. We were worried because we couldn't speak English or Japanese, but he gave us the basics. He knew how to speak Korean. Also, it was convenient that the place descriptions and other things were translated using a translator. We made a reservation for 120 minutes. Before the tour, I thought it was expensive, but after the tour, there were many places I thought I wouldn't have been able to go to if I hadn't taken the rickshaw tour, so I was so satisfied that it wasn't a waste of money. It was the most satisfactory itinerary of my mother and I's trip to Japan.

It was a very interesting and fresh experience. You can enjoy the scenery of Yufuin from different angles. The driver was very friendly and humorous. The introduction was also very good. Don't worry about the language problem. Simple English can communicate. Although it sounds a bit expensive at first glance, it costs more than 2,000 yuan for 30 minutes. But after the actual experience, you will find that it is very worthwhile~

I highly recommend taking a rickshaw ride if you can find one! Even if you don't speak Japanese, they'll mix in a bit of English and Korean and give you witty and humorous explanations, making the whole tour really fun! It was a little rainy the day I went, but they covered us with waterproof fabric to keep the rain from splashing on us, and they stopped at key points to explain the location and take beautiful pictures. My friends and I were all very satisfied that day!!

The service staff was very friendly and humorous. They talked and laughed with us throughout the 120-minute journey. They had good English skills and could use mobile phone translation. The most important thing was that their photography skills were very professional.

The end point can be specified. The driver is very lively. Although our Japanese is not very good, the driver can use Google Translate to introduce. The 120-point experience was well worth it, but it was really embarrassing to see the driver running to the back and sweating like crazy.

The rickshaw driver was very kind and took beautiful pictures. He also gave detailed explanations about the tourist attractions and history, which was really great.
