What to expect
The Van Kieu minority people in Ngan Thuy village named the cave “General Cave or Vo Nguyen Giap cave” because they remember that during 1971 – 1973 General Vo Nguyen Giap once lived and used the area when he’s leading and commanding the Southern troops. With the massive caves system together with the scenic natural landscape of two districts of Le Thuy and Quang Ninh, together with the beautiful valleys, long filtered water streams and caves will remind everyone that it been part of historical sites in Quang Binh that should everyone must know and visit. If you are into cave exploring, this is an excellent tour!!! I walked in the dark with head light, swimming across the water, and climbed up and down inside the cave! Lunch was local food and was delicious... The tour guide, cook, and cave guide were very professional and ensured our safety. They took nice photos for us. Local mountain village visit was nice and tranquil after cave visit.
Worst service provider I have ever known. I booked the tour 2 days before the departure date, but the supplier did not call to confirm the trip information. We do not have any information about the service provider. Until the morning of departure, I tried to find out that the supplier was Netin company. I contacted but the staff explained very poorly and only informed that the tour was canceled due to weather, without any apology. I am really disappointed in the service. Everyone should avoid this tour.
Good to know
What You Need To Bring:
- 1 long (easy to dry) pants and 1 long sleeved shirt to wear during the trek (quick dry)
- 1 pair of trekking boots/shoes – difficult terrain, good footwear necessary. Gore-Tex/waterproof boots are NOT recommended as they do not drain well (if you prefer your own comfortable pair)
- 1 change of clothes for after the tour
- 1 pair of calf length densely woven socks (not ankle socks!)
- Personal items: mosquito repellent, sunglasses, hat, camera
