Michelline Ann 13 Feb 2019It was a wonderful experience to get up close to these magnificent, majestic and gentle giants. How wonderful that people actually pay to pamper these rescue animals - feeding and bathing them all day, even making medicine balls and taking some measurements to monitor their growth. What a contrast to the abuse that they received before coming here! Guides were knowledgeable, explaining pretty well what goes on in the sanctuary. They were also great at taking photos. Just hand them your phone or camera. There's actually an official photographer and all photos will be in a Dropbox folder available to everyone. Transportation was in a semi-enclosed jeep rather than a van so it can get bumpy. I got dizzy from the inward facing direction and dreaded the trip back to town. But it didn't take anything away from the experience. Lunch was simple but tasty and filling - white rice, veggie curry, potatoes, fried tofu and fried chicken. The whole day program was done at a relaxing pace. Worth it!

The elephants of Thailand are famous all over the world, and there's no better way to truly have a memorable experience with these gentle giants than a visit to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Chiang Mai. Upon arriving at the sanctuary, visitors are greeted with refreshments and valuable information about the elephants' dietary habits and the good work that the sanctuary does. Visitors will don traditional Karen tribe clothing as their day with the elephants begin, and be able to assist in preparing the elephants' food and feeding it to them. Guests are free to play, interact, and take photos with these elephants, all while being able to learn about how they had come to the sanctuary, their rescue story, and how more elephants could be protected from abusive practices. Fancy some good clean fun? How about a mud spa with the elephants? You'll get to jump in with them and then bathe them in the river afterwards to get them nice and clean. If you like having more time with the elephants, you can opt for the One Day Walk which will let you visit more camps and meet more elephants to spend time with! After a good meal, you'll be easily and safely conveyed back to your hotel, knowing that you have had a truly safe and ethical experience and have contributed to making a difference in the elephants' lives.

There is a slight trekking. It was difficult for my dad because of his age but there were 4 locals who helped him get by. Everyone is so nice. -

Martin 3 Feb 2019pickup on time, ride in the back of the pickup terrible. take a jacket and a face mask the elephant camp is nice, elephants super cute you get to feed them and you can touch and hug them also bathing in mud is nice, you can give the elephants a nice mud procedure after you go to a small lake where you throw water on the elephants very nice experience lunch is also good -

Jae Ho 27 Jan 2019Feeding, mingling, bathing and mud bath with elephants were wonderful. Also, good to be part of a great cause to rescue and to provide sanctuary for such a wonderful animal. However, we all felt that the 90 minute ride to the elephant camp and back was not only inadequate but unsafe. To travel on speeding highways in the back of a converted pickup truck was extremely dangerous. -

This trip is a dream come true for me, we really had a great time with ths elephants. i will come back this August with my husband to experience the 2D1N. I must say this is the highlight if my Thailand trip.💕
