What To Expect

A truly wholesome, immersive experience with Thailand's famous gentle giants is only possible on an ethical elephant experience with great consideration for the welfare of the animal. This is why a half day trip to the famous Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Phuket has become so popular: visitors will be able to interact and join the elephants in their natural habitat and learn about the life of these rescued giants. After a briefing on the work and background of the sanctuary as well as some snacks, visitors will be able to don the traditional clothing of the Karen tribe. They will help the sanctuary's keepers to prepare natural dietary supplements for the elephants in their care. Then they will be properly introduced to the sanctuary's rescue elephants, and even feed them the prepared supplements. While playing and interacting with the elephants, taking photos and making sure they are well fed, or even just observing them, visitors will be able to learn about the elephants' past. They'll be taught about elephant behavior patterns and characteristics, and bond better with them when they learn how a truly ethical experience with elephants is achieved. Visitors will also get the chance to have some good clean fun by taking a big mud spa with the elephants, and help them wash off afterwards in the elephant shower room! Then you'll get your own shower and enjoy a delicious Thai meal as a reward for all the hard work, with vegetarian options available. You'll be dropped off back to your hotel a true sense of accomplishment, knowing that you've aided the sanctuary and its elephants, and learnt how to best help these beautiful creatures in the future.

10/10 Highly recommended when you're staying in Phuket! :D The caretakers here genuinely cares for the elephants. <3 They are all good in english (especially Pamela) so we really understood everything that she explained about the elephants. (Apparently, there are 2 types of elephants which I wouldn't have known if not for this activity haha) We enjoyed giving the elephants a mud spa and bathing with them on the river! :-) They also gave us FREE Traditional Karen clothing that looks really nice! 100% islander fashion! hahaha If you wish to buy more of it as a souvenir, they sell it for 300 THB. We bought 2 more. :D

amazing experience.. loved the concept of enjoying with elephant by making them eat food, playing them with mud and then bathing on the pool.. far far far better than being cruel and riding on such a beautiful and friendly creature.. must go.. well done guys you doing the great job... recommended 100%..🤗🤗

WARNING! If you’re looking for an ethical elephant sanctuary, where elephants are roaming free and interacting with each other, this is not the place. The elephants are controlled by humans 100 percent of the time, and forced to bath with the visitors, this is no more ethical than riding them. The camp feels more like a zoo than a nature reserve. This is particularly outrageous, when there are places that are actually ethical, and one may affiliate this place with them. That said, we did had a lot of fun there. The staff is super friendly, and the food is good. It’s a great experience for humans and I wouldn’t have any problem with it if the terminology wasn’t that miss leading.

One of the best experiences my wife and I have ever had. We're both 26yrs old btw. The activity was worth every penny. They picked us up, the two tour that led the activity were both happy and funny. The elephants were awesome and looked well taken care of and happy No ropes or anything. The food we got at the end was also delicious. The whole set up was perfect, easy and amazing. It was a little workout with all the walking up high slopes but just an fyi for older people.I would highly recommend in general!! Unforgettable experience!
