We went on a weekday and it was not packed with tourists, so it was good. The ONLY problem with this tour is the heat, as expected in the summer - but 2-4pm was super bad heat at 40deg celsius, so bring a bottle of ice cold water, hat, fan. But above all they were very nice and mindful and gave us cold bottles of water and cool wet wipes each after. But the places were very beautiful. They also share the history from Siam to being Bangkok. The van trip was also very comfy and so much space for 5 pax at the back. I would not go back in the summer haha. But worth a try for a tan.
Noon time departure from Bangkok to Ayutthaya. Mr. Paul as my tour guide, a female driver and another tourist with me ONLY. What's beautiful Sunday as not much of people and today weather is chill and windy. Manage to enjoy and learn the local Thai culture and history of Ayutthaya. Mr.Paul is a knowledgeable and experience tour guide.
We are 8 in the group, we left Bangkok on time. Snacks and bottled water were given. Thana was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed listening about Thailand’s history. The tour was very informative. The itinerary was perfect.
The tour was great overall! Our guide was wonderful, and we really enjoyed exploring Ayutthaya. The only challenge was the weather, as it was extremely hot and made it difficult to walk around and fully enjoy the sites. I would also suggest including a meal or some time for lunch in the tour itinerary. It would be a nice addition, especially given the heat, and would make the overall experience more comfortable and enjoyable.
i tried to avoid having to purchase tickets myself and including other activities to make it a full day tour, so I selected this one. It was relatively straightforward. I found this tour an easy way to visit the most well known temples around Bangkok.
Paul is so kind and knowledgeable with the tour! I love how he is very joyous! I learned a lot from him! Also the tour is very educational. Happened that I booked a joiner but ended up as a solo guide. Must book!
This tour is especially recommended for those who want to relax in the morning, as it starts in the afternoon. Since you visit four locations in half a day, I think it offers great value for money. Plus, the explanations were very interesting to listen to.
Tour manager Tom (Cruise) is very helpful. He's firm but kind. He also make it a point to engage us while doing a good job in facilitating the tour. He takes great photos as well. I was a solo traveler but he made sure that I have my own photo souvenirs to take home.
The bus was comfy and the AC worked well. The driver was polite and professional. Mr. Thana was our guide, a senior Chinese-Thai who clearly loves his job. He is very knowledgeable about Thai history. He patiently answered all our questions and explained the significance of each temple we visited. He also offered to help take photos, which I appreciated as a solo traveler. His accent is also easier to understand. My only suggestion is to allow tourists some quiet time during the 1.5-hour trip to Ayutthaya perhaps limiting explanations to 30-40 minutes so people can rest. Overall, he is a good and dedicated guide. The meetup place can be confusing because the mall is very large and crowded, so arriving 15-20 minutes early is recommended. The pacing of the tour was good, and we visited all the planned locations. At each stop, the guide showed us a temple map while explaining the site. We were given about 40-45 minutes at each place to explore on our own, which was more than enough.
We ended up having Paul as our guide a second time, two days in a row (yay!), and he was just as great. He hit a perfect balance between giving us rich historical context and letting us explore the temples solo. We covered four different temples and came away with a solid understanding of each without ever feeling rushed. Paul even helped us narrate some of the videos we captured, which was a huge plus. You can tell he has a ton of pride in his country—it’s infectious when he’s explaining the history or pointing out how the local scene has shifted, from food stalls to traditional costume rentals for photos. Even when we got caught in a rainstorm and hit some travel hiccups, Paul stayed professional, courteous, and kind. The ride back to Bangkok was easy and well-managed. If you’re a history or culture enthusiast, this is the tour for you. We’ll definitely be looking Paul up for more tours next time we’re in town!
