Each week, fighters from all over the world assemble at Phuket's famous boxing stadium to compete in Thailand's national sport. Muay Thai boxing, an ancient martial art, is unlike traditional Western Boxing in many ways. You'll be amazed at the pace of the sport with men and women fighters using not just their fists, but also elbows, knees and feet to trick and beat their opponent. If you are already a fan of Muay Thai, looking for some evening entertainment or just want to get the complete experience when in Thailand – a real Muay Thai match should certainly be high on your itinerary.
It's a good experience. The fights are pretty intense and there are a few knockouts as well. Don't bet big money on the fights though-they could be fixed based on the amounts of bet. Would suggest betting only small amounts if you just want to experience betting and feel the intensity.
This place is located in Patong. I would recommend visitors to book the tickets online such as Klook. The event is only held on every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. As it is one of the famous attraction, it can be really difficult to get the ticket at the door. Book it online or with the local tour agency, they provide free transport to the Boxing Stadium. I was really lucky I must say. I purchased a Stadium ticket but the IC there offer me VIP seating. I was then offered to sit right next to the commentators. Initially I thought they are going to pass me a big bill for the seating but don't worry they did not. It was a three hours long event starting at 9pm (Thailand time). It's pretty unique and knowing muay thai is one of the famous Thailand culture , I will highly recommend this place. Cost: $50 for stadium ticket. Visited November 2016
The show is very exciting, highly recommend!
If you visit Phuket this is a must see. We really enjoyed the muay thai boxing and the environment is electric. Word to the wise, the food selection is not great so make sure you eat before you go. But the boxers are great and it was a memorable experience.
Real fights blood and guts from the start, not for the faint hearted but one hell of an experience. Five bouts in total and one championship fight go for the vip treatment as you get your drinks brought to your seat by lovely ladies
