What to expect at the Ruins Bacolod
Take a private tour of Bacolod and see some of the city's most popular attractions. Visit San Sebastian Cathedral, a Roman Catholic Church built in the nineteenth century. Just outside the church, is the Bacolod Plaza, which hosts the majority of the city's public gatherings. You'll be served one of the city's specialties for lunch, chicken inasal. Next on the itinerary are The Pope John Paul II Tower, the Gallery of Masks, the Laguerta Vintage Glasses Museum, and, finally, The Ruins in Talisay. Sugar baron Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson and his wife, Maria Braga, own the mansion, which was built in the 1900s. It was burned down by Filipino guerrillas during WWII. Fortunately, the strong walls and foundation survived and can now be visited by a large number of tourists.

Our driver/tour guide/amazing photographer Kuya Eddie of Southwest Tours Bacolod is the best. He is on time and brings us to all our planned itinerary. He knows a lot about the history of Negros and the best food options. Since we already ate in Aida's Manokan the previous day, he suggested for us to eat at Melken's Seafood Restaurant. It's one of those floating restaurant in Silay and the food is great though a bit pricey, so we just added extra for our lunch budget. But we really love it!!!! Our last stop was the Ruins and I have to say that Kuya Eddie really knows the best spots for pictures! He is really amazing. You won't regret this tour. It's on your own phase and you'll learn a lot about the history of Negros that was never discussed in your history class. 😊
We really enjoyed our city tour of Bacolod. We had the whole car to ourself (2pax). Our driver/tour guide was on-time, friendly, informative and helpful. We were able to visit all the spots mentioned in the itinerary.
Kuya Ernie (our driver) was very friendly and was easy to communicate too! He knows every route going from one place to another. We went to the Gallery of Masks and took up the mask painting activity and he just waited for us until we finished. It was sad tho since we haven't got the chance to go to The Ruins since it was closed during our tour. Overall, our experience was fun and memorable! Will definitely book Southwest Tours for my next Bacolod trip!
I had a great time. Bacolod is beautiful. The ruins is a must see and visit. The only con in this experience is that the drivers seems to be not aware of the destinations The operator should educate and inform their drivers for seamless experience.
Ryan, our driver from Southwest Tours, is very friendly who knows the ins and outs of Bacolod City. He brought us to most of the interesting spots in the city and of course the Ruins where we marveled at the beauty of the mansion. I recommend booking with Klòok for your Bacolod City tour for a hassle-free experience of the city.
